on Yu-Gi-Oh Alright everyone, I’m here to let you all know that I’ll be running a Create-A-Card contest starting today as soon as you read this article. It’ll be running, as stated, from Friday, October 10th through Friday, October 24th, and winners will be announced on Friday, October 31st (yes, I know that’s Halloween).
First place will receive a special mention in one of my articles, as well as a personal deck fix by me. Runners-up will receive a special mention in one of my articles, and that’s about it. I know, not the best prizes, but when you’re broke and writing for free, there’s not a lot that I can do in terms of giving stuff away. But that’s OK, because this Create-A-Card contest is a lot different than ones that previous featured writers have put up. I’m not asking you to have a theme-based card, or a tribal card (Spellcaster-oriented, or Warrior-oriented, etc), though you’re welcome to make them tribal if you’d like.
There are a few simple rules, and we’ll make them quick:
No amazingly-awesome card that says “when you play this card, you win the game.” Those are stupid, and will end up in the trash.
No cards that are a rip-off of other cards (Dark Beaver Warrior, much?).
No god-cards.
No normal monsters; effects only please.
That’s really it. As stated, your cards can be any type of card, from a normal monster (that won’t win you the contest, by the way) all the way up to a Synchro monster. It’s up to you, and the choice is yours, so think hard. The criteria I will be judging on will be creativity, playability and usability. That’s it.
You don’t need to send me a picture of the card; just the text is fine. All submissions MUST be sent to anteaus44@gmail.com. If they are sent to my normal e-mail (anteaus44@hotmail.com), they will be deleted. Let me say it again: ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SENT TO anteaus44@gmail.com, LEST THEY BE DELETED.
Other than that, that’s it! Get out there and start creating those cards!
Thanks, Anteaus
