on Yu-Gi-Oh
Hi my name is Leo and i was
checking your fixes and they are so cool that i wanted you
to check mine please. I focus on
getting ALO (that’s why I use Terraforming to have "7" ALOs
and get one for sure, ok almost always) the first turn so I
can use all my effects and with luck attack directly with
MK-3 while stalling, but if not keep attacking with anything
and for the final blow or to remove unwanted things I use
Levia Monsters: 20 2x Levia-Dragon - Daedalus 1x Mobius the Frost Monarch 1x Giga Gagagigo 3x Warrior of Atlantis 3x Mother Grizzly 3x Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 1x Mermaid Knight 2x Yomi Ship 1x Abyss Soldier 2x Nightmare Penguin 1x Aqua Spirit
Spells: 15 3x A Legendary Ocean 1x Salvage 1x Level Limit - Area B 1x Terraforming 1x Heavy Storm 1x Giant Trunade 1x Mystical Space Typhoon 1x Pot of Avarice 1x Smashing Ground 1x Fissure 1x Lightning Vortex 1x Swords of Revealing Light 1x Monster Reborn
Traps: 5 1x Spiritual Water Art - Aoi 1x Tornado Wall 1x Mirror Force 1x Torrential Tribute 1x Gravity Bind
I’ve always enjoyed a good Water build, and it seems like the Water archetype has just been waiting for someone to come along and build a deck that can rule. Well, I think we may have found that deck. The cool thing about Water monsters is their versatility. Now, this can be an advantage and a disadvantage, because many Water monsters are reliant on Umi (and, in turn A Legendary Ocean) to survive on the field. They’re a lot like Gravekeeper’s, though your effects are slightly more varied in a Water deck. Needless to say, I’m always excited to see a deck brimming with potential like this one. So without further ado, let’s bring on the fix!
We’re going to start by looking at the monster lineup, as always. Leo has an interesting build, but it’s really varied and hard to grasp. We need to consolidate it if it’s going to run well. First, we’ll start with monsters we’re going to get rid of:
-1 Giga Gagagigo -2 Yomi Ship -1 Aqua Spirit
These monsters are superfluous at best, giving strategies a tiny bit of help, but nothing major. Giga Gagagigo is a vanilla monster, something that even with ALO we don’t need in this build, and while Yomi Ship can be good, it’s not going to fly in this incredibly offense-based deck. When you’re playing this build, you’re not going to be worried about your Life Points; all you want to do is go flat-out toward your opponent and not stop until they’re history. That’s how this deck runs, and it runs that way quite well. But here’s what we are going to add:
+2 Mermaid Knight +2 Mobius the Frost Monarch
It’s a simple fix, but one that needed to be done. Mermaid Knight is on par with Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 in terms of offensive power, and Bugroth will help you in a tight squeeze, especially with some Nightmare Penguins on the field (2100 ATK that can swing directly?!). The Monster lineup is not bad at all, and it’s going to stay that way with some minor tweaks.
Now let’s take a look at the Spells. He’s got a steady mismatch of spells at his disposal, and it looks like Leo was a bit confused as to where to go with the lineup. I’ll be taking a quick peek under the hood here, because the Spell lineup is where this deck is going to shine. So let’s start with the stuff we’ll pull:
-1 Heavy Storm -1 Giant Trunade -1 Fissure -1 Level Limit - Area B -1 Swords of Revealing Light
These are just simple changes that will make the deck run much better. You need to hold on to your ALO as long as humanely possible, and having both Heavy Storm and Giant Trunade in the deck isn’t going to do it for you. You need to be able to constantly rely on your Spells to win you the game. With this build, you won’t need Level Limit either, because your monsters are going to be beasts when they’re on the field. But now let’s focus on the few spells you do need; this is a simple fix, and one that I’m happy to include:
+3x Enemy Controller +1x Terraforming
With this build being so reliant on ALO, you’re going to need as many copies as possible, and with Warrior of Atlantis being such a major part of the deck, you can’t afford to discard him too many times. This way, you’ll have the ability to not only counter your opponent’s plays, but stop your opponent’s monsters in their tracks and then run over them with your powerful monster lineup.
Now then, for the Trap lineup. We’re going to be taking the idea behind Tornado Wall and expanding it to include a second copy; this is such a great card that I can’t really say anything bad about it. It’s not a three-of card, but two will definitely be beneficial. We’re going to be dropping a Gravity Bind, too, and instead adding a second copy of Spiritual Water Art, because let’s face it, that card is amazingly good.
-1 Gravity Bind
+1 Tornado Wall +1 Spiritual Water Art –Aoi
So that’s it! Let’s look at the finished build:
Monsters (20):
2x Levia-Dragon - Daedalus 3x Mobius the Frost Monarch 3x Warrior of Atlantis 3x Mother Grizzly 3x Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 3x Mermaid Knight 1x Abyss Soldier 2x Nightmare Penguin
Spells (14):
3x A Legendary Ocean 1x Salvage 2x Terraforming 1x Mystical Space Typhoon 1x Pot of Avarice 1x Smashing Ground 1x Lightning Vortex 3x Enemy Controller 1x Monster Reborn
Traps (6):
2x Spiritual Water Art - Aoi 2x Tornado Wall 1x Mirror Force 1x Torrential Tribute
I really, really like this new deck. It’s going to be much more consistent and a lot more fun to play. It’s ability to handle a myriad of situations makes this deck really shine. Look for it to lay waste to many, many different decks the next time you see it at a tournament.
