Article # 22 Two Articles in one day?! Yup.. You heard right.. For this article, we’ll be taking a look at two Light-Type Monsters of the current Japanese game and future English game. Neither of these cards’ English times of release are known. We begin this article with a look at Kaiser Seahorse. Kaiser Seahorse Light/Sea Dragon - Level 4 - 1700/1650 Effect: If this Monster is used in a Tribute-Summon to Summon a Light-Type Monster, this Monster counts as 2 Sacrifices. *From the Japanese Kaiba Structure Deck Volume 1* Kaiser Seahorse is a pretty interesting Monster card, that can be very Effective for most any Light-Type Deck. When using high-level (Light-Type) Monsters, such as Blue Eyes White Dragon or Gilford the Lightning (Next card featured in this article), this is when Kaiser Seahorse comes most in handy. With Blue Eyes White Dragon, which would normally require two Tributes to Summon, when using Kaiser Seahorse in BEWD’s Sacrificial Summon, it’ll only cost you the one Tribute, being the Seahorse. Thus adding a bit of speed to your Deck when running higher-level Monsters such as Blue Eyes. Since it’s a Light-Type, Kaiser Seahorse could also aide in fueling the Chaos Monsters, such as Chaos Emperor Dragon, say if you were going to use Kaiser Seahorse in a Dragon Deck with CED and BEWD, etc. for example. Its stats aren’t too bad, either, for what it can do for you. 1700/1650 can pretty much stand up for itself pretty well in either position; ATK or DEF. One downside about the card, though, is that it can’t be Searched by anything, so it may be tough to get it in hand at the same time having the Monster you want to use with the Seahorse. But when you can make it work for you, it can do a pretty good job of aiding you in getting your powerful Light-Type Monsters out on the Field, and much faster and easier than usual. Kaiser Seahorse can fit well into, obviously, Light and Sea Dragon-based Decks, and any Decks with High-Level Light-Type Monsters. I’d give Kaiser Seahorse an overall rating of 6.5/10. For the second card of this second article of the day, we’ll be taking a look at Gilford the Lightning. Gilford the Lightning Light/Warrior - Level 8 - 2800/1400 Effect: If you Sacrifice 3 Monsters to Summon this card, destroy all of your opponent’s Monsters on their side of the Field. *Released as a Japanese promo from the DM6 game* Gilford the Lightning.. a.k.a. the Monster version of Thunderbolt. (Raigeki) Quite an interesting Monster, and pretty fun to use. It can fit semi-well into Light-type and some Warrior Decks, though most of the time that it sees play is in Fun-Decks. Not too much of a competitive Monster card. It has a hefty ATK strength at 2800, and with only 1400 DEF it can be searched by the Witch, giving it a bit more speed in any Deck it‘s in. It also works well with the Kaiser Seahorse. Instead of 3 Monsters, you could just use 1 Kaiser Seahorse + 1 of any other Monster in a Sacrificial Summon for Gilford, and you’ll still get to use its Thunderbolt-like Effect. Does Gilford’s Effect mean that you can only Sacrifice 3 Monsters to Summon it? No, all that means is if you do not Sacrifice 3 Monsters (From your Field) to Summon it, you won’t be getting its what-could-be devastating Effect. Get rid of all your opponent’s Monsters, then have an open shot at a direct attack for at least 2800 damage. Could be pretty effective. And yes, Gilford can be Revived, but if it is, you won’t be getting its Effect that way, either. Overall, Gilford can be a pretty fun Monster card to use, but it’s usually not too effective, as most of the time it’ll be too hard to pull off its Effect. I’d give Gilford the Lightning an overall rating of 6.7/10. Now for an example of a Light-based Fun Deck using these 2 Monsters. Translations of cards that may be unknown to you will be provided at the bottom of the Deck example. Destroy all of your opponent’s Monsters on the Field. During the turn you activate this card, any BEWD’s on the Field can not attack. And that’ll do it for my second article of the day. E-mail me with any questions and/or comments at dm7fgd32@hotmail.com And for a little sneak peak at what one of the cards that my next article will feature, one of the featured cards will be the Deck Destruction Virus of Death, a.k.a.
