Article # 1 - The Messengers of Chaos My first article for the
site.. Let’s take a look at 2 of the most powerful Monsters
in the current Japanese game; The Monsters known as.. The
Messengers of Chaos. Dark/Dragon - Level 8 - 3000/2500 Effect: This Monster may not be Normal Summoned. Remove 1 Dark type Monster and 1 Light type Monster from your Graveyard from the Game to Special Summon this Monster. You may pay 1000 LP to send every card in each player’s Field and hands to the Graveyard. For each card sent to each players’ Graveyard, inflict 300 damage to your opponent’s LP. Chaos Emperor Dragon. It may
not seem too great at first, but this card is absolutely
devastating. It’s a pretty easy 1 turn win, and an absolute
1 turn win if you have Yatagarasu in your deck and a Black
Forest Witch/Sangan on the Field at the same time you bring
out CED and use CED’s Effect. You just Special Summon CED
when you have a Witch/Critter on the field, use the Effect,
search for Yata from BFW’s or Critter’s Effect, Summon Yata
and attack for the win. Since the opponent has no cards in
hand, they will never be able to draw again so long as you
keep Summoning Yata and attacking. Very evil. Just hope they
don’t have a Sinister Serpent. Have the opponent’s Field clear, preferably after a Hurricane (Giant Trunade) for their M/T cards, if any. Special Summon CED, Summon Card-Juggling Samurai (Also coming in the same set as the Messengers of Chaos), attack for 4000 damage, filling the opponent’s hand up to 7 cards (From Samurai’s Effect), have at least 5 other cards in your hand/Field total besides CED and the Samurai, then use CED’s Effect and it’s an instant total 8200 damage for the win, though you most likely wouldn’t need all that to pull off the win w/ CED anyway, and that combo wouldn’t exactly be easy to pull off anyway, it’s just a combo. One more pretty cool thing to do in Special Summoning CED is to have the Dark type Monster you remove be Dimensional Scouting Machine. Its Effect is “In the event that this card is removed from the game, this card is returned to the Field in face up ATK mode during the end phase of a turn in which it was removed.” That’s pretty good considering CED would get rid of everything, and if you have nothing to back you up, DSM is certainly a good Monster for that. DSM is great with Chaos Soldier as well, of course. You may be thinking: What happens if you send an opponent’s Vampire Lord to the Graveyard from CED’s Effect? Well, V Lord must be “destroyed” by a card Effect. With CED, it is only “putting” cards into the Graveyard, not “destroying” them, so V Lord’s Effect of coming back to the Field will not be able to take place. Also, CED’s Effect is great when chained with a Subspace Matter Transfer Device (Trap card that lets you remove a Monster from the game until the End Phase of the turn in which you activated it) or a Ring of Destruction for either saving your CED from its own Effect or for some heavy extra damage. CED alone is a menace to deal with. 3000 ATK is nothing easy to get by. This card is definitely the most broken high-level Monster, right alongside Jinzo and Chaos Soldier-Messenger of Creation. Not to mention Chaos Emperor Dragon may have the best card art for a Monster card in the game. Another thing about CED, is not even Tidal Wave (Torrential Tribute) can stop it. When you Summon CED, if the opponent chains with a Tidal Wave, the chain priority goes back to CED and the owner of CED may choose to activate CED’s Effect, taking place before Tidal Wave does. CED can also work great with Mystery Wok. (See my latest Deck) Activate its Effect and chain it with Mystery Wok. You’d be doing 600 less damage, but you’d also be gaining a hefty 3000 LP.
This card has built in Apostle of Obliteration (Nobleman of Crossout)/Black Core (Magic card; Discard a card to remove a face-up Monster from the game) Effects, only there is no drawback of discarding cards to it. Only that it can’t attack if you choose to remove a Monster from the game. Don’t like one of the opponent’s set Monsters? Well, just choose to remove it from the game and all that will happen is the Soldier will not be able to attack for that turn. Don’t get confused, though, it works on any and all Monsters, face up or face down.
Also, don’t get confused. Chaos Soldier can only attack a maximum of twice each turn. If you destroyed 1 Monster, then destroyed another Monster, you may not attack again. It’s only if you destroy one Monster, you can attack again, whether it be directly at their LP or against another Monster. I give the Messenger of Creation a 9.1 / 10. I myself prefer using this Chaos Monster over CED. I find it to work more effectively in more of a variety of Deck-Types, and I find it to be a lot more fun to use, and to be more of a game-winner.
Chaos Emperor Dragon was
recently restricted to 1, but the Chaos Soldier is yet to be
restricted. These 2 cards are simply great, seemingly
overpowered cards. Arguably the 2 best High Level Monsters
in the game, certainly the 2 best Monsters in the game that
over Level 6.
1x Sprit Reaper
1x Harpy Feather Duster 1x Early Burial 1x Mystery Wok
1x Sixth Sense
