Dark Paladin's Yu-Gi-Oh! Dimension
Some cards you may want to take a look at

5.10.05

Hello again to Pojo and Yugioh fans one and all!

Today, I come to you with a very important topic. This article is about cards that I believe are tremendously underrated and may be worth using in today's format of gameplay.

On a little side note, I'd like to say that if these cards offend anyone, or you begin to say I'm nuts, please save your hate mail for yourself, however, I don't mind constructive criticism.

Let's start with...

Kaiser Glider
2400-2200
Light-Dragon
Level 6

Effect: This card is not destroyed when battling a monster with the same attack. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, return one card on the field to the owner's hand.

With more and more 2400 attack one tribute monsters being played all the time, Kaiser Glider, in my opinion at least becomes a very solid side deck monster.
I guarentee you that if you're playing this in pretty much ANY competitive deck, you'll definately have your opponent shocked for a moment.

Let's look at some pros of Kaiser Glider:

Cost Down makes him a 4 star monster
He's a DRAGON making him able to be summoned via Flute of Summoning Dragon or King Dragun He can take out Jinzo, all the Monarchs, and Sacred Phoenix without being destroyed

Plus, you can return a monster to your or your opponent's hand when he is sent to the graveyard. That could allow you to prepare for a direct attack to your opponent or you could reuse a flip effect monster.

Skill Drain

Pay 1000 lifepints. Negate the effect of all face up monsters on the field.

We just reviewed this in Card of the Day on Friday, and I seriously think this should be side-decked at least as well. As stated in my Card of the Day review, this card negates the following:

Vampire Lord's deck destruction ability
Don Zaloog
DD Warrior Lady
DD Assailant
Dark Paladin
Yata Garasu (traditional)
Breaker the Magical Warrior
Tribe Infecting Virus
Black Luster Soldier--Envoy of the Beginning Chaos Emperor Dragon--Envoy of the End (traditional) Dark Ruler Ha Des Dark Magician of Chaos All the Monarchs

and the list just goes on and on and on

Thebian Nightmare
1500-500
Level 4
Light-Fiend

If there are no cards in your hand and in your Spell/Trap zone, increase the attack of this card by 1500 points.

That, ladies and gentlemen gives you a 3000 attack tribute less monster. Who wouldn't like that.

(Yes, being a LIGHT and a FIEND is ironic, but who cares.)

Late game, on the last few turns, this wouldn't be an impossible thing to accomplish. I side-deck one, and when I'm bold enough to main-deck it, I usually can't get the effect without intentionally trying. However, it is a decent choice, and I think if you tried playing with it, you might be surprised.

Reload
Quickplay Spell

Return your hand to your deck and shuffle it. Draw the same number of cards that were previously in your hand.

I run this in my maindeck and only side Card Destruction. Why, you ask? There are a couple of good reasons. One, with no Monster Reborn for an easy bump and dump, Card Destruction becomes pretty useless except for Chaos, but mind that Card Destruction may help your OPPONENT as well. Secondly, with Reload, only YOU get the effect.

And, the final card for this article is...

Guardian Angel Joan
Level 8
Light-Fairy
2800-2000

When this monster destroys a monster as a result of battle, increase your lifepoints by an amount equal to the attack of the destroyed monster.

Most people dismiss this card as pure crap, and that it very much is outside of a Light/Sanctuary in the Sky/Fairy deck. However, this card also works like a God in a Fire Princess deck. Besides, I personally believe Lifepoint gain to be a very underrated tactic in Yugioh. Anyone running any of the aforementioned decks should try running Joan.

That does it for this article, and I hope you enjoyed it.

Next time, I'll be building a Sanctuary in the Sky deck!

Only 9 days until Star Wars: Episode III

Feel free to e-mail me about anything @ tsearcy@lssu.edu

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)
