How to Bewilder Your Opponent Part I

6.10.05

Hello again to Pojo and Yugioh fans one and all!

Today, as the title of my article implies, I will tell you some ways of how to bewilder your opponent. Now I'm sure some of you are going to think why would you want to do that? Well, if some of you recall my PSYCH dueling series, this will go along with Psychology while dueling.

Anyone who duels me knows I refuse to run a CCWC deck and insist on running decks you may say are "outside the norm." My favorite is of course the Spellcaster deck. Now, one way to bewilder your opponent is playing cards he or she has never seen or even heard of.

If I had a dime for everytime I played the Spell card Dark Magic Attack from Ancient Sanctuary and got a response along the lines of "What is that, what does that do, I've never seen that...etc." I would be a very very wealthy person.

Even if you don't win the duel, using cards your opponent has never seen can be tactically effective in startling or confusing your opponent, if only for a short while. Secondly, along the same theme, play decktypes that few or even no one uses. Or, be extremely original and just take cards and throw a deck together. A theme isn't necessarily required in a deck, but it doesn't hurt.

Run a Dark Paladin, a Legendary Ocean, even a Fire Princess deck. Something your opponent won't expect to run in to. Heck, even try an Exodia deck. They seem to have fallen out of popularity lately.

These are just a couple of ways that you can confuse and bewilder your opponent. Tune in next time for Part II of this article when I give you more ways to confuse your opponent.

As always, please feel free to contact me by e-mail

I'm available at tsearcy@lssu.edu

Until next time, you stay classy, Planet Earth :)

~Dark Paladin~
