The State of the Current Metagame Part X--Those Who Stand Strong
2.21.07

Hello again to Pojo and Yugioh fans one and all! I come before you again continuing my "State of the Metagame" series addressing, yet again, the New Ban list. However, not in terms as this was done right or wrong, in terms of devotion and having your heart in the game.

Sure, the Ban List may not be the best, but all ready, I'm getting e-mails telling me that the list sucks, it's the worst ever, I'm quitting, and the like. People complaign about how certain things weren't addressed on the list and most of our problems are still exactly that--problems.

Well, they did do a decent job with trying to limit and neutralize One Turn and First Turn kills on this list. That seems to be one thing most people agree on. However, people are more upset about other things.

Why weren't Monarchs dealt with? Why was the Gadget issue ignored?
Why did we lose Breaker the Magical Warrior, Magician of Faith, and Graceful Charity? Why did we get Snatch Steal back? Why was nothing done about Chimeratech Overdragon? Why were Injection Fairy Lily, Exiled Force, and Sacred Phoenix unrestricted? These are all good questions.

As I had said previously in this set of articles, this list could make or break the game of Yugioh in terms of people quitting and feeling as though they and their ideas are being ignored. This is the time when we, as duelists, must make the stand and continue playing. Especially you who are angry and feel like quitting just because you may not like the list.

Those who stand strong are the people that help ensure the survival of something like Yugioh. Sure, you may not like something that happened, but that's part of the game. You take it ALL as it comes, the good, the bad, and everything else in between. Yugioh needs you players and people, now more than ever.

It's up to veterans, the skilled and non-skilled alike, to stay with the game, to help keep those who have lost faith, or feel that quitting is the only answer and make them realize that it isn't the way.
Otherwise, Yugioh will die, slowly but surely, and we can't let that happen. There are still those to who Yugioh means something. It means something important, and it's up to all of you, and up to me, and those who still do care and believe to reunite all players to keep the game going!

Well, I hope this helps some people, maybe some of you who feel so negatively and angry have a different perspective now, if not, at least I tried to get a positive helpful mission across. That does it for this article, please feel free to e-mail me with anything @ tsearcy@lssu.edu
