Wouldn't It Be Nice...?
09.17.07

Hello again to Pojo and Yugioh fans one and all! I come today to talk to you about my thoughts on support for themes or decktypes we have now, and about receiving new decktypes and cards. This is brought on by me looking through my card album over the weekend, and just building some fun decks to try out at my local card shop.

Every set, we always get some kind of support for an existing decktype.

Whether it be Elemental Hero, Destiny Hero, Machine, or whatever else, it's always there. Also, we're usually introduced to a new type of card, and there's usually just enough of these cards to make a base deck, or sometimes more of this new type. An example of this would be Crystal Beasts recently, or the Gladiator monsters from the next set, Gladiator's Assault.

However, what about other types of monsters that don't have near enough to make a deck out of, let alone something playable? What about Plant monsters, or what about Thunder monsters, or how about some solid Dinosaur support? How about a little more solid Rock support, and some awesome Fish and Reptiles, instead of just a bunch of common Water monsters?

What I'm getting at is this: What is the point of introducing themes of monsters if you aren't going to give them enough cards and support for people to make a Deck out of them? Everyone has a favorite card, or monster, and may not be able to play it because it doesn't fit with their deck, or it doesn't have enough (or any) support.

Yet, at the same time, we are being introduced to new decks, and new themes, as others we care about just rot, sit, and collect dust in our folders and binders. So have some fun, take a look at some cards you don't play, but may be partial to for one reason or another, build a fun deck. You never know what could happen, you could have just created the next Tier 1 Deck!

Well, that does it for today, and as always, if you wish to contact me, please feel free to do so @ tsearcy@lssu.edu

~Dark Paladin~
