The Junkpile-3 Cards Worth Looking At
Sept 4, 2007
Only
Shooting Stars Break the Mold...
Well here is another addition to the Yu-Gi-Oh! world from
lil' old me. I have often brought to your attention cards or
decks that are surprisingly cool, but today I think that I
am outdoing myself. Today I look at 3 different Tribute
monsters. Usually Tribute Monsters don't get a second look
unless they are a monarch, Cyber Dragon or Dark Magician of
CHaos. Well here are three old friends that will cause quite
a stir when summoned.
Airknight Parshath
Dark Ruler Ha Des
White Horned Dragon
These are all cards that have been regarded as being good,
but have not seen play recently. This was due to the fast
nature of the format requiring a card to pay for it's
summoning cost upon summon. None of these cards do that.
However with the new list, I believe that some of these
cards will be able to be played well again.
Trample Your Face!
Airknight is the most popular of the choices for today. He
was played a lot during Chaos because of his attribute and
his ability to net you a card from battle. He was dropped
with Vampire Lord when Cyber Dragon was released. Now
however we have Shrink, Enemy Controller and a host of other
cards that make him deadly again. Reasoning is his best
friend as your opponent will likely guess another level.
Monster Gate is also much fun, as your opponent will have no
time to prepare for your piercing onslaught. Even with
Shield Crush and Nobleman of Crossout running amok, there
will still be defense position monsters thanks to Enemy
COntroller as well as the new Seer/Apprentice Engine. I like
this guy enough to have gotten 3 copies of him in the last
year. Try him out, as he is a continuous advantage getter as
well as a sword in your opponent's side.
Hmm, I Think Not!
This guy is amazing. Facedown monsters haven't got a chance
and face up monsters are just easier to kill. With all of
the cool effect monsters that we have running around, this
guy has a presence on the field. 2450 ATK beats monarchs and
pretty much anything else that your opponent can throw at
you. With the loss of face up removal he is a bigger threat
than ever. Recruiters, Sangan, DD MOnsters, Dekoichi,
Gravekeeper's Spy, and Card Trooper all have their effects
negated by him. The fun thing is that he grants this little
negation trick to all of your fiend monsters. He cannot be
Special Summoned from the graveyard though, so once he is
gone, he is gone. However, he is almost invincible in battle
and is vulnerable to the usual spell and trap cards as well
as monster effects, but if you can get in a few negations
with him, he will have already switched tempo in your favor.
It's Slifer! It's Uria! No, It's White Horned
Dragon!
My second all time favorite card. He can be a whopping 3700
ATK when summoned properly. That is big just for a single
tribute. Now that Magician of Faith is back people will be
used to reusing their spell cards. White Horn just slaps her
upside the face and says no. Cuz when he is summoned, you
can remove up to 5 spell cards from your opponent's
graveyard form play and it gains 300 ATK per card removed.
This will limit your opponent's options while playing the
APprentice Engine as well as any other deck that uses
Magician of Faith. He is also huge, usually weighing in at
2800 ATK. Only DMoC has an ATK that high, so he will lay
some serious smackdown on your opponent, and late game is
godly. I like it a lot, so try him out and watch your
opponent gape at his very large attack points.

internet for a while, so don't despair if you don't receive
an email immediately.
Thanx for Reading!
