Tebezu on YuGiOh
Armed Guards
March 20, 2006

Steel Plated, Razor Sharp, glistening might. Armed Dragon Lv. 10 is one of the coolest looking Yu-Gi-Oh Cards ever.

The day started off very bad, I was feeling so sad, just wasn't having a good day. So I decided to go on a binge, except I bough Yu-Gi-Oh cards instead of ice-cream. (Yu-Gi-Oh cards being a much healthier treat)

The look on my face the day I pulled

2x The Grave of Enkindling
2x Magical Mallet
2x Armed Dragon LV. 7
2x Inferno Reckless Summon
Ring of Defense
Armed Dragon LV. 10
was sheer amazement………………………………................................................................................

Not only because I was struck with God Luck, pulling 10 holographic cards out of 10 packs. But I got Armed Dragon LV. 10 one of the most impressive cards I have seen. Honestly, he makes Cyber Dragon and D.D. Assailant look like amateur cards.

So there he set, in all his glory. I just had to use him. I have had Armed Dragon LV. 7 for a long time and just have never had any motivation to use him. This was my motivation. So I decided to build a deck using the mighty dragon. I started off using Inferno Reckless Summon, an idea suggested to me by one of my readers.

After about 20 test games, I noticed it had roughly 50 percent effectiveness against a cookie cutter deck.

So in the end I decided to drop one of the Armed Dragon LV. 7's and inferno reckless summon. I took them out because they just would not work. If I was running a deck dedicated to Armed Dragon LV. 5, then the card is really effective, but unfortunately for Armed Dragon Lv. 10, he is a bad top deck when you are losing the game. So I could not afford to run a deck with 8 bad top decks on top of the usual ones, a.k.a. Nobleman of Crossout, MST, Heavy Storm. You know the useful cards when your opponent. Has 4 at. Monsters and you have nothing.

Anyway, I took my deck to a local tournament located in Florence Kentucky. I ended up getting second place, and winning a cyber barrier dragon (HE IS SO COOL LOOKING) I played a total of 11 games and lost 3. But the tournament is round robin, meaning you just keep playing until time is called. So you get 1 point for losing and 2 for winning. I started the tournament off using a rescue cat deck, which gave me 2 losses. After that I switched to my Dragon Deck, which gave me 8 wins and one loss due to a burn deck. So, an 8:1 ratio was not bad. 3 games I summoned Armed Dragon LV. 10, and every time I did he won me the game. One time in particular was due to the fact my opponent. Had 2 despair from the darks on the field, thank you spirit reaper and call of the mummy. Obviously I could of discarded my LV. 10 for LV. 7's effect, but then I would not have dealt the 3000 points of damage to finish off the game :P

(I love games that work out like that :P)

Anyway, this is the version I used. Give it a try, help me make it better. The feeling you get by summoning such a monster, and the shouts of frustration your opponent. gives you for getting it out (TIM?????????????????) And the looks on peoples faces when you have 2 Armed Dragon's LV. 7 on the field at the same time, really make it worth it.

I know you can help me improve this deck. It has all the things needed to make it playable, searchers, monster removal, and a cool card.

2x Widespread Ruin

Notice the deck does not run smashing ground. It does not need too. Armed Dragon Lv. 5 and up do the same thing only better. Also, the graveyard fills up quickly, so pot of avarice gives you countless fun and allows you to summon your dragons back to the field, 3 or 4 times within the same duel.

My Body as a Shield is this decks best friend. Every game I have played this card saved my dragons. Stopping Dark Hole, Torrential Tribute, Sakuretsu Armor, etc.

The look on your opponent. Face when they top deck dark hole to your spirit reaper and 2 LV. &'s is sad. They start off all happy and then you ruin it with my body. I laughed the entire time, in an evil laugh. I say things like, go ahead and draw dark hole, I want to see it. And Honestly, I do not know why My Body Has Not Been used in more Shonen jump tournaments. Oh Well, the Cookie is only so sweet.

Some Cards to try out in the deck would be Pole Position, because smashing ground does a number on your armed dragons. Your hope is to draw those cards out in the early game. People do smashing ground, and lightning vortex, dark hole, etc. your armed dragons. Pot of Avarice reloads them, but still, your opponent. Hope is to get you top decking, because they know you will be hurting in that area. Also, 3x Grave keeper's Spy might aid in the pot engine while at the same time thinning your deck down and giving you field presence.

Let me know what you all come up with and sorry if I sound a little angry in this article. It is just that I am still pumped over the fact I got LV. 10 out so many times. Take that………………………………....stupid cookies………………………………..................................................................................... join me later for my silent magician deck, it will be coming, and

My friend Tim and I have been working diligently on a deck using LV. Modulation as a means of providing us with hand advantage. Yes I know, but you all will see the power of this underestimated and bad mouthed card.

Until next time,

Now this is a deck sent to me by XEgyptianXGod, one of team necrosis master deck builders. He has devised an Armed Dragon Deck to use in the coming format. Honestly, I believe that the next format will make the dragon deck more playable. His deck is very well built, using cards like Goblin Attack Force and Giant Orc as both an att. staller, beatstick, and tribute fodder for the dragons. The only changes I would recommend for the deck would be to add more stability to the search engine. This meaning, add more searchers. But in its current presence, it is well built.

THE NEXT FORMAT HAS A-LOT TO THROW AT US. WE MUST PREPARE TO SHUT DOWN CHAOS DARK WORLD. Anyway, thought it would help to throw in a deck for next ban list, that way you all can get an idea concerning how to approach it.
