Cybernetic Union
Sept. 11, 2006

In the wake of destruction there exists a calm understanding that we all come too. Will we die, or will we refuse to give in and challenge authority? Do we accept the world for what it is, or do we change it to suit our means? Do we follow the pack, or do we branch off and develop a new order? However, one thing stands firm. To be successful in whatever paths we choose, we must learn the intrigued connections and untold powers that influence the world.

When approaching deck building I start by looking over the list of cards. I determine what cards will work energetically while finding cards that will allow my decks to adapt and run smoothly. However, my true skills come from my ability to observe. Observation of others is one of the most important skills we can hone. Learn from the mistakes of another and develop on their ideas.

Thus this week I plan on not posting decks that I have developed or fixed. But revealing decks others have built. and showing the decks off in their creator's words. My reasoning for doing this is simple, if we as a gaming society plan on evolving, we must watch and learn how gamers play. The overall importance of observation is simply that others have a voice and that their experiences will be different from ours. Thus simply by listening we can prepare ourselves for the unknown.

I admit, I am a fan of Cyber Barrier/Laser Dragon. I cannot get over how cool their pictures are.

With this in mind, I present to all of you Bellahdoll's tested and proven Cyber Dragon Deck...

-The following explanation is written by Bellahdoll...

The three Shining Angel's work rather well. The deck seems to want an aggressive play style. If you think you have a clear shot, you should try to attack as often as possible. The deck is big, but it plays pretty fast. It shouldn't take long to get a Cyber Dragon on the field. Then, you want to attack whenever possible. An opponent can be overwhelmed at times, since most monsters are ran over by Cyber Dragon or Drillroid. What you really need to worry about are traps and spells. I use Giant Trunade to allow for a big push. If you think you can hit them hard, play Trunade and go for it. I took it to one tournament hosted by a store and it finished 5-1. It lost to a burn deck, but it beat three other machine decks, a Destiny Hero deck, and some deck that I forget what it was. I lost to the burn deck before I knew what I was playing. I used Cyber Stein, and the burn effects easily took me out.

The main pros of the deck are:

-It can get out big monsters very fast. These catch the opponent off guard, since you will rarely not have a monster to play with Cyber Dragon that isn't effective in some way.

-Most big monsters that the opponent has are useless against Cyber Laser or Barrier Dragon, as well as the fusions.

-It has several cards such as Photon Generator Unit, Attack Reflector Unit, and the commonly run Ring of Destruction to chain to spell/trap destruction

-It has the capability to win big and win fast before the opponent has much chance to respond or counterattack.

Cons:

There aren't many, although beware of monster removal. A well timed Mirror Force will hurt this deck more than most decks, particularly if you have out a nomi or fusion. Really, just treat it like a normal deck, because monster destruction is your main concern. Loose too many Cyber Dragons and you're in for it.

It does well in tournaments. Just run it like a regular deck at first with Cyber Dragon, Dekoichi, etc. An opponent will be shocked when you chain Photon Generator Unit/ Attack Reflector Unit to spell/trap removal.

Also, as you should know, don't use Cyber Stein, Power Bond, Future Fusion, or Overload Fusion unless you are near certain your opponent has no way to block you assault.

Also, watch out for burn decks. They can wipe you out quickly if you use Stein or Power Bond and don't end it right there. Definitely side in Jinzo when this comes up.

The deck really isn't that hard to run after you try it out a few times. Just learn when to play your 'finishers' as listed above and to beware of monster removal more-so than normal, and the deck will do well.

There you have it, a playable Cyber Dragon deck. This deck is fun to play and really makes you feel like zane.

If anyone thinks they have a deck worthy of a spot this week send me a list and a write up of its pro's and con's. Give me some tournament history and tell me how it has placed in tournaments.

It is also important to describe the logic that when into building the deck and how/why it came to be.

I can be contacted at Tebezu@gmail.com

-On a side note I'd like to give my condolences out to
Anthony Alvarado.

Yes, you heard me right. The man who is the epiphany of Cookie Cutter's last Shonen Jump appearance was done with a relatively strong original build. To this I say: that even the stubborn will learn the importance of breaking away from the norm and realize the strength of running the unknown.

Remember this, the element of surprise is a weapon we all should explore. For in the end, the unknown is what will destroy us.

I'm proud of the Big Shark. For those of you who feel CC is the only way, think of Alvarado.
