YuGiOh
Path of Least Resistance
-The following analogy is
simply to get people to
think. If our core values
are not challenged then we
simply never understand why
we have those values.
No matter what you say or
believe you are a racist.
These are the words that go
through my mind as I read my
Race and Gender text book.
It gives me some time to
think about it and the more
I think about it the truth
emerges. Despite the fact I
have friends belonging to
numerous "races" and am a
person who has helped, spoke
with, and been amongst other
non-white, non--disabled,
etc. individuals I am one
due to the fact I belong and
live within a system
developed off of such
ideas. One of the issues
people have (and myself upon
reading this) was that I
took the words to heart.
Being an individual who can
only interpret the world
through my eyes and through
my senses, everything spoken
to me or read by me is
directed to me in some
fashion. But such a term,
such a statement is not
something directed to an
individual, in actuality it
is dictated to the group.
The way the book continues
to explain this truth is to
speak about the game of
Monopoly. Monopoly in and
of itself is a game, but a
game is an organization
based upon the inputs from
its players. When playing a
game the object is to win.
People who play Monopoly are
no longer nice, forgiving
individuals because if they
want to win they have to
remove their opponents
resources. If you do not
believe me think of the
nicest, most giving, and
charitable person you know.
If you play them in Monopoly
they become another figure
in the games system whose
objective is to win. Land
on their property and see if
they do not charge you to do
so.
Systems only exist because
people allow them to and as
such allowing something to
exist (may it be ignoring
issues of deforestation in
South America, child labor
laws across the sea, unknown
privilege one may get, etc.)
you indirectly become part
of the problem without
actually knowing or being
aware of it.
Yu-Gi-Oh is another such
system. No matter what we
are all cookie cutter
players. The reason for
this is simply because the
game is designed in such a
way that if we do not
utilize certain cards we are
at a complete disadvantage
against an opponent. We all
want to win and in order to
increase those odds we have
to play cards like Graceful
Charity and Mirror Force.
This is by no means wrong,
because no matter how we
look at the game going on we
are but pawns of a system
that can not exist without
us. But to change this fact
(much in the way one goes
about changing the concept
of racism or the global
economy) we must become
aware citizens who recognize
and understand the mechanics
of what system we are
involved in and exploit its
weakness. In essence
developing something new and
more capable than the former
system. The twist is
learning what parts of the
old system worked and what
parts were downright wrong.
This task is never easy,
because people never have
and never will like change.
We become comfortable in the
current system and
opposition from those who
choose the path of least
resistance (the guys who
play the cc because it is
more accepted than a new
strategy or those people who
wear white/black shoes
instead of bright
purple/yellow because people
look at them funny) deters
us from doing things our
way.
And with this I present to
you all a dragon deck that
can generate and hold as
much momentum as the future
gadget decks.

1x Dimension Fusion
1x Graceful Chairty
1x Scapegoat

2x Cyber End Dragon
Side Deck (15)
3x Des Wombat
2x White-Horn Dragon
2x Mobius the Frost Monarch
3x Cyber Dragon
1x D.D. Warrior Lady
1x Treeborn Frog
1x Ring of Destruction
1x Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute
Despite this decks appearance it is utterly fast. I have played against various version of this deck at a local tourney and experimented with it myself on the side. In part this deck was inspired by my friend Ernest, who has clawed his way through my shops ranks and now has made himself numerous appearances in our top 8, for that I must commend him. The decks real power comes from its access to the fusion deck. King Dragun is an utterly devastating monster that makes you regret running 3x Sakuretsu Armor. Mirage Dragon (especially when combined with our side decked 2x White-Horned Dragon, and 3x Cyber Dragon)
This new format really
provides dragons a powerful
role. The deck could be
slimmed a little and Cyber
Dragon and some of his
buddies could also blend in
the main deck and work
relatively well with the
Mirage Dragons and King
Dragun's. The point is that
this deck offers players a
new way to play that will
exploit a Gadget players
dependence on removal
cards. Smashing Ground I
believe will begin to make
its way out of the game too
(unless you are utilizing
the gadgets) simply because
with so many gadgets popping
up on the field the card
becomes a minus one. Snipe
Hunter will make an
appearance as will Lighting
Vortex, thus dragons will
prevent targeting effects
and My Body as a Shield will
protect non expendable
monsters. Keep this in mind
as you play though, do not
swarm the field with 5
monsters unless you have My
Body or game.
I can not change your minds
or alter your opinions, that
is up to you. But I can
show you new ways to
approach a problem, and as
such I suggest that you all
follow me on a path full of
turmoil and struggle because
finding a new way to do
something is not only the
key to destroying the
established but it is a
necessity that prevents an
environment from becoming
stagnant.
If anyone has any
suggestions for this deck,
wants to talk, has some
crazy deck ideas, etc. I
can be contacted at...
