YuGiOh
If a Hindu is hungry to
the point of starvation
will he eat his Zebu
cattle (the kind
utilized by such
people)? Many look at
this question and simply
say, ya he is about to
starve to death and that
cow can feed him and his
family for some time.)
But one who believes
this does not understand
that without the cow
life gets much worse
than starvation. For
the cow is the tool used
to plow fields,
transport goods,
insulate living
conditions, provide a
heating fuel, a cooking
fuel, etc. Everything
about the cow being
alive, including its
dung, is more beneficial
to that individual than
feeding themselves. For
if the cow dies their
way of life is totally
doomed. The cows death,
no matter how
"necessary" in the
moment it
occurs, provides long
term consequences that
are far more disastrous
than the instinctive
driving force of
hunger.
To understand the above
concept one must look
past the concept of
immediate satisfaction.
We have to look at the
question and think a
turn ahead. Just like
those who utilized the
new otk which totally
dominated Orlando, we
have to be willing to
take a little hurting
for the more important
aspect of our current
situation.
2000 life point damage,
multiple dead draws, and
a lack of monster
removal means that when
we go to win it better
be a win.
Dark World is an
archetype that just
refuses to die away. It
is more than playable
(as proven through the
months its been out)
but in order for it to
do exceptionally it must
be combined with
something else. On its
own it can not stand but
when combined with our
new friends the gadgets
or even our old ones the
gravekeepers, you get
something that has a
steady way to generate
advantage and something
capable of rewarding you
for waiting the duel
out. With this I
present to you all 2
decks. One designed by
Chris Michaelis of team
Onslaught utilizing
the gadgets. His deck
is entitled Babylon due
to the mythical Vail
about the gadgets.
Chris Rowlands and I
have been corresponding
for a few weeks now and
he has been having some
great success with his
gravekeepers/DW deck.
Winning multiple local
tournaments and coming
close to it with 9-1
records. His deck plays
off the fact Royal
Tribute forces both
players to discard every
monster in their hand.
This gives him the
opportunity to swarm the
field with DW monsters
while removing any
advantage gadget players
or other decks have
generated through
monster effects. Both
of these decks find an
alternative way to
generate advantage and
take advantage of what
advantage they generate
by smacking an opponent
in the face for 2300
plus damage. If played
properly these decks
starve an opponent of
resources and force them
to think of each moves
consequences. We want
our opponent to think,
because beating someone
who thinks their going
to win is a great
feeling:)
I recommend that you all give these decks a try and learn about their mechanics. The game is changing and advantage goes hand in hand with field presence. If you can control both of these aspects of the duel you will always win the game.

crazy deck idea, etc. I
