Article #2 - D.D. Warrior
November 16, 2005

First off, I would like to make a correction to my last article.  I put that you can discard Dark World Monster with Lightning Vortex to get their effect.  I meant to put that you cannot use their effects with costs.  I wasn't thinking.  Please excuse that mistake.

If you don't already know, D.D. is the Tournament Pack 7 Ultra Rare.  Will he break the metagame?  Will he become used and abused by most, if not all the competitive decks?  Does he match up to D.D. Assailant?  Hardly.

When this card battles a monster, after damage calculation remove from play that monster and this card.

The first thing to notice when looking at D.D. Warrior is that his effect is not optional, thus he already falls below D.D. Warrior Lady.  After battle, he will NEVER see the graveyard.  He always gets removed from the game (unless some rare instance where your opponent is using Divine Wrath).  D.D. Assailant also is not optional, but may actually live to see another day after one attack.  D.D. Warrior can attack a scapegoat token, and get removed from the game.  He can attack a Magician of Faith and get removed from the game.  But he can also be attacked by things such as Jinzo, Cyber Dragon, Mobius, etc.. and remove them.  Does he match up to his earlier counterparts?  No.  If he could survive more than one attack, he might make the cut.  Can he be used in certain decks?  Of course.  He is searchable by Reinforcements of the Army, Sangan, Giant Rat, and Warrior Lady of the Wasteland.  Don't expect many competitive decks to use him, but some rogue decks will show up using a couple copies of this card (ya know..the ones who can afford multiples of him).  Expect this to mostly be used in die hard DD decks.  If you do happen to pick up a D.D. Warrior....toss him on ebay.  He won't change the metagame much.

Here's an example of some sort of aggro-ish earth deck using him.
