Zell's Deck of the Week 03/09/05 - Sorry for the late submissions, and the rather sloppy ones lately, I have been under stress. I have a huge test coming up, and if I fail it, I have to take it next year, and it'll be twice as hard. And to top that all off, I had a death in the family. Though, I am hoping to make a comeback with his article. Final Attack Orders has always been a devastating card, if makes your opponents draw of a ScapeGoat spell card equivalent to skipping their draw phase. And if play it with the proper cards and counter cards, you can have a victory in a mere 3-4 turns! If you're running a beatdown deck, you should consider side-decking a few of these. They are anti-ScapeGoats and Anti-Weaklings. This Weeks deck is from Lightning1, he writes: Hello, I'm Lightning1,and my deck is based around Final Attack Orders (FAO). I use mainly high attack monsters that go to defense. I'll go further in detail after the deck list. It conforms to the latest Ban List. [Monsters] (19) [1] Jinzo [1] Magician of Faith [Spells] (11) [1] Pot of Greed [Traps] (10) [1] Call of the Haunted Now, the deck is good, but not all playable. With the excess of monsters compared to Spells and Traps, it'll be hard to get out the lock. He tries to use Spell Shield Type-8 but with the reprinted text, it'd hardly be useful in this deck, since he only has 11 spells. And it didn't have the best effect you could utilize. I will review the deck as is, but I am also going to do something rare, and that is I will also fix the deck and make it more effective. Here we go, the Combo's : Final Attack Orders + Goblin Attack Force, Giant Orc, Spear Dragon - This combo is where most of the damage comes from. GAF, Giant Orc, and Spear Dragon will never switch to defense mod after attacking under Final Attack Orders, so they won't die the next turn! Final Attack Orders Vs. Opponents ScapeGoats - Well, I've talked about it for a bit. Switch the Goats to attack mode, and you have a few shots at direct damage! I am going to skip to boring staples part and go on to the Conclusion : Originality - The deck is pretty original, 10/10 here. Playability - Not very playable, the deck isn't stable, 4/10. Top Decking - Also, not very good here, 5/10. Conclusion - The deck gets a 19/30, or a 63.3% .... Not so good, but I am planning to fix that. The deck needs some fixes, so first I am
going to drop Jinzo, since he negates to combo. I'm going to
Drop Magician of Faith, she would be vulnerable when
flipped. Mataza the Zapper, he just isn't worth it.Sangan,
why is he in here? To get the weaklings I guess, but they
deck can do good on its own. And Both Spear Dragon's. Now,
time for three new additions. Tribe-Infecting Virus, this
card is a must for staples. Another Airknight Parshath, he
is good for draw power. And a Chiron the Mage, this guy is
the lapidary of Spell/Trap removal. If you discard a Spell
Card, you can destroy an opponents Spell/Trap card. Now that the monsters are done with, time
for the spells. Creature Swap can hurt you, so let's take it
out. Riryoku, with the new modifications, there will be no
need for this.ScapeGoats, why hurt yourself? And we now have
7 open Slots. So, add a Lightning Vortex in. Add a Card
Destruction. A Delinquent Duo, Nobleman of Crossout x2, Book
of Moon x3. And finally, the traps. Let's take out
Magic Cylinder, Spell Shield Type-8 x2, Ceasefire, Call of
the Haunted (I know I'll get hate mail for taking this card
out, so let me verfiy why, there isn't any one monster
you'll need that badly). And let's add in 3 Ojama Trio. And,
I usually up pose going over the 40 card limit, but for the
sake of protection, 2 Magic Jammers will be added. And here's the final product : [Monsters] (16) [2] Airknight Parshath [1] Chiron the Mage [Spells] (16) [1] Pot of Greed [Traps] (10) [1] Mirror Force As a side-note , I don't know if I've already mentioned this or not, but I will only be taking decks for the Ban list beginning on April 1, 2005. If you would like to submit your deck for Deck of the Week send it to DaRkFiReStAtR@aol.com, the Subject line should read : ' Deck of the Week! ' , Include your name, a description of how your deck runs and the strategies it has, and of coarse your Deck list. |
