Zell's Deck of the Week 04/01/05 - Again, I am sorry for the two week leave of absence. I have been exploring new decks I could use in the Advanced Format being enabled today. I have decided to pick a Cannon Soldier burn deck, if you were wondering. The deck is a type of burn, however it is what I like to call a 'Launch Burn', which basically means you launch monsters to win. Before I begin the article, I would like to announce that I am sick of being sent Chaos Deck, or any kind, and the Basic Burn decks that run Lava Golems, Stealth Birds and the such. Send me something original, please. Today's deck comes from Dylan, who writes : The main combo is to equip twin swords of flashing light-trice on raging flame sprite while stalling and drawing. It seems he's not much for words, but I'll compensate. [Monsters] (15) [Spells] (17) [Traps] (8) The deck is quite unique. Raging Flame Sprite can be extremelly deadly if used properly, in a deck like this. Let's take a look at the support cards: 1) Iron Blacksmith Kotetsu - This guy is a necessity in this deck. He can get Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce out and on Raging Flame Sprite extremelly fast, he doubles the speed if you didn't have him and relied on normal drawing Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce. 2) UFO turtle - Similar to the above card, he doebles the chances of you getting Raging Flame Sprite onto the field. Very nice to have. 3) Spirit Reaper - Although only one copy of this card is in the deck, this can save you in tight situations. 4) Level Limit - Area B & Gravity Bind - These cards are obvious to most. They are great stall cards, and best of all, Raging Flame Sprite can attack under them! 5) Pot of Greed + Graceful Charity - Staples in any deck, but these help speed up this deck. All right, that about covers the main support cards. And the combo's, or shall I say combo, has all ready been explained by Dylan. So, let's skip to the review. Originality - The deck is extremelly original in my opinion, and deadly by 4th - 6th turn if you play your cards right. So, I give this deck a 10/10 in originality. Top-Decking - The deck seems to work with itself pretty well. So I give this deck a 9/10 here. Platability - The deck is stall, and has alot of cards to support that. The deck is also beat down, not burn. So there are a few risks to attacking, but this can be deadly fast. So, I give it a 8/10 in playability. Overall - Overall I give this deck a 9/10 or 90%. Nice job Dylan. If you want to take a look at my Cannon Soldier deck in the pojo forums click here. If you would like to submit your deck for Deck of the Week send it to DaRkFiReStAtR@aol.com, the Subject line should read : ' Deck of the Week!
