Yugiman's Thoughts
Single Card Review: Sand Moth
November 2, 2006

Single Card Review: Sand Moth

The object of Yugioh has always been to lower your opponents LP to 0 and use cards to to take advantage of opponent to succeed in doing so. Sets have came out that have released broken cards such as: Yata, BLS, CED, Pot, and so forth. But they sometimes also have cards that dont get released until formats afterwards when they can really work.

Last format and this format people heavily favored Zaborgs, Exileds, MsLv2, and other such f/d hate to bring them advantage to make a match swing their way, and it sometimes succeeds. But what happens whens a card can stop that? Could it bring momentum back to you or will you fail once again.

One card can stop them all, and its in the name of Sand Moth. This card was released in Shadow of Infinity and until now, it hasnt seen much play.
Exileds are now up to 2, and with everyone and their mothers playing it, people are aiming to counter it. Sand Moth is a common, and its not to hard to get and its stats are pretty great too. Heres the text of the card.

Sand Moth
Earth/Rock/4/1000/2000
Effect: When this face-down Defense Position card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, except as result of battle, switch the original ATK and DEF of this card, and Special Summon it to your side of the field.

Easy summonable, and has great 2000 defense. Meaning if your opponent rams something small into it, he wont like the outcome. 2000 defense can hold its own against some monsters. If they try to blow it up via Zaborgs, Exiled's, MsLv2 it will come back(special summoned) switching the attack with the defense. That makes it 2000 Attack, and 1000 Defense. If you have something f/d to blow up a Zaborg like a Sakuretsu than your opponent could be staring down a 2000 attacker and might not have a way to stop it. Remember though, Sand Moth has to be in f/d defnese position in order for the effect to work.
If it ain't you wont get the effect at all.

Beginning of format I used these, and everyone seemed to catch on at my locals and ran what I ran. They saw that it could give good advantage if used right. But as of lately I havent seen many sided. It can be a very good side-deck card, and I think you should consider in using it. Maybe try 2 in the side-deck, could come very handy. I dont side them, mostly cause I dont have these types of problems, but if you do....this can be the card for you.

Thanks for reading. Hate mail/support mail can be directed to freezergeezer111@hotmail.com. If you want me to review any cards(Doesnt matter, what rarity) please also direct to that e-mail. Peace. Sorry for any spelling mistakes, I write these quickly and usually late in the night.
