Review: Mask of Restrict
If your looking for 1 card that can shut down Monarch decks, this will be the card your looking for. This card orginally came in LON, and I think got released again in some other pack. Someone actually e-mailed me about doing it, than I found some and stuck them into my side-deck to counter Monarchs. The text on this card is. Mask of Restrict Permanent Trap No matter what the situation, neither player can offer any monster as a Tribute. Pretty easy effect. Neither player can offer any monster as a tribute. That means no Monarchs, Exiled's can go off and go berserk on your monsters. It leaves Thestlos, Zaborgs, Mobius, etc dead in your opponents hand until they can get rid of MoR. This is also a Permanent Trap so you'll get the use out of it until the kill it off via Dust, MST, Breaker, Storm, etc. You could probably make a very good anti-meta deck with this if planned right. Out of all the Masks in the LON, I would probably put this one as the best currently, it counters against the meta and can give you mass adv if used correctly. Maybe try running 2-3 mained(anti-meta) or 1-2 sidedecked against tribute heavy decks. While they do have a good effect, they can also lead to bad top-decks. But if you play Dekoichi's, Skelengel, you might draw into them so it wont turn out like that. Also, if running this maybe try to avoid running Treeborn as they do conflict with each other. This isnt a card you shouldnt turn your head away on, try side-decking a few and see how it works, maybe you can make a worthwhile anti-meta deck with it and begin fighting against Monarchs. Im gonna be starting up a new article soon. Whats gonna happen is Im gonna take 1 card from the Ban list and tell you how it fits in the game's current meta(if it was unbanned).
