http://www.pojo.biz/board/member.php?u=23916
Ally: What is your name?
Tinga: Michael Tinga Jr., High Point,
NC
Ally: Why did you quit YGO awhile
back?
Tinga:
Family problems and game always the same
Tinga: Same ol’ decks
Ally: Why have you decided to come
back now?
Tinga:
Taking a look at recent
metagame.com
article's looking how the game's changed an how it’s
anybody’s game.
Ally:
I see. Can you tell the Pojo readers about your past
accomplishments before you quit?
Tinga: Great guy who inspired me was
Wil Loftis.
Tinga: My proudest was top 8’ing
three regionals back to back and helping my team
mate from my old team Team Heaven Refugees in the
top 8 in every regional we played in.
Tinga:
First regional Greensboro NC 5-3 19th finished with
bad reaction control
Tinga:
Second regional finished 5-3 with rescue cat 24th
Tinga:
Third 6-2 Soul Control Topped 8 Durham NC
Tinga:
Fourth soul control 7-1 no side, scooped
Tinga:
5 regional 6-2 manea control finished 14th
Tinga:
6 regional soul control 6-2 T8
Tinga:
7 regional 6-2 refugee swap T8
Tinga:
8 Regional Strike ninja 7-1 T8
Tinga:
9 regional 6-2 flip control, refugee swap sided T8
Tinga:
Virginia 1500 Soul control 6-2 T8
Ally:
With all those accomplishments I'm surprised you
just got up and quit. I mean did you regret it at
all?
Tinga:
I did a lot at the time when I was playing cards
‘cause it was my hobby.
Tinga:
Most of my friends had play’s card game too, so I
had someone to play with.
Tinga:
When i quit, I felt uneasy for a while.
Tinga:
I still wanted to pick up a deck of cards an play.
Tinga:
But I had family/Long term relationship problems to
deal with first.
Ally:
That’s understandable. Now that you have come back
into the game what do you hope to accomplish?
Tinga:
when I had quit there was a lot of the same stuff
being ran. Always 3 of 8 T8 deck list in SJC were
the same
Tinga:
I use to be a much completive person but now I’m
more relaxed an don’t care as much.
Tinga: Don’t get me wrong I love winning, but I like
meeting amazing people and have fun an all that can
be done with this game and of course make an
appearance in a SJ top 8.
Ally:
Do you have any advice to give to the people that
decide to come back into the game later?
Tinga:
Play test a lot if your trying to T8 a regional or
an SJC, play smart, be creative, and thoughtful
’cause the best strategy is the surprise element.
Tinga: If you go in with something completely off
the wall, people will have trouble shutting your
deck down ‘cause they never seen it before.
Tinga: A side deck is also important.
Ally:
Ok. That’s a lot of advice to give! Hopefully some
of it will come in handy. What’s your favorite
strategy and why?
Tinga: There are two that come to
mind.
Tinga: One is Rally which means all
towards one goal so when you and your opponent are
top decking then you pull off with the win ‘cause
every deck should be played as soon as you draw
them.
Tinga: The other is Sasuke Samurai #3
Swap aka Refugee Swap.
Tinga:
Sasuke Samurai # 3 reads, when this card deals
damage to your opponents life points draw until you
have 7 cards in hand so the idea of the deck is to
swap the samurai over to your opponent to ram
something lower in attack value into it to gain +4
and up on your opponent.
Ally: Alright! That was an interesting combo right
there. When do you hope to attend your next
regional?
Tinga:
Soon, I have to make a deck first =/
Ally:
While you do that, would you like to say a few last
words to the Pojo readers before this interview is
over?
Tinga:
Get an Education, Will Ferral & Dane cook are
awesome!
Tinga: It's ok to be broke, But not kewl to be
locked up so don’t do anything dumb
Ally: LOL. Thank you Michael. This concludes are
interview.
