Before I get started with the
interview I like to thank Pojo for putting it up on
Pojo.

Ally:
Alright before we get started I like
to thank you for taking time out of your life to do
this interview with me. For my first question what
is your name?
Adam: Adam Corn
Adam: And No Problem
Ally:
How old are you now and how old were you when you
started playing YGO?
Adam:
Right now I'm 16, and I started playing Yu-Gi-Oh!
about 2 years ago competitively.
Ally:
Competitively? Were you a big noob when you started
playing or did you just like to play the game for
fun?
Adam: When
I forst started I was pretty bad, but I eventually
started learning more and more about the
complexities of the game as time went by.
Ally:
Oh? What was the biggest complexities did you learn?
I mean did you go "no that's now how it's done" and
learned from those types of mistakes?
Adam: Yea
I mean there's so much more to this game than meets
the eye, and it took me a while to understand a lot
of that stuff.
Ally:
Yeah and looked where you landed hehe. What was the
first deck you ever ran?
Adam: Umm
I believe the 1st deck I ran was a strike ninja deck
with DD Scout Planes; it was a fun idea.
Ally:
How well did that deck work out for you?
Adam: Not
great; it was just a fun deck when I didn't know
much about the game...
Ally:
Do you think Strike Ninja decks are good today in
the current meta?
Adam: No
right now Yu-Gi-Oh! is all about Monarchs and D-heros...there's
really nothing else that's gunna stand up to those
right now.
Ally:
Do you think KONAMI and UDE are going to do anything
about those two deck types next list? Like do you
think DD Draw is going to get limited?
Adam: I
definitely think D-Draw has a possibility of being
limited as it’s a key part in any destiny hero
strategy....I can’t see anything ever being done to
monarchs really.
Ally:
I see. What about Brain Control in a Monarch deck?
Do you think it's stupid that people want it limited
to one on people’s fake banned lists?
Adam: No I
could understand it being limited it’s definitely
one of the most powerful cards monarchs have at
their disposal.
Ally:
Wouldn't you think people just go to the next best
thing like Enemy Controller, Soul Exchange, Creature
Swap, and Treeborn Frog?
Adam: Of
course but if brain did get limited it would hurt
monarchs as brain allows the monarch player to
generate huge advantage swings forcing your opponent
to take a minus either way.
Adam: Cards such as enemy and swap
aren't as game breaking.
Ally:
You make some good points. Ok what do you want to
see limited, semi-limited, banned, and unlimited?
Adam:
Personally I'm not a big fan of Ring Of Destruction
seeing as anyone can topdeck it for the game...I
personally have had some really bad experiences with
snatch steal being topdecked also so I wouldn't mind
seeing it go.
Ally:
What do you think is the worse possible win? Ring or
Snatch?
Adam: Ring
for sure; especially, if I was in the advantage
state and no matter what I do people would draw it
for game; that's a horrible way to lose.
Ally:
Also a horrible cheap win in my opinion. Now on to a
different subject can you please tell the readers
about your creds?
Adam:
We'll obviously I just won 2007 nationals. I have
also top 8ed 2 Shonen Jump Championships and at
least 13 regionals...I'm ranked 2nd in California,
19th in the United States, and 51st in the world
before nationals...I've also won a side event shrink
in Seattle.
Ally:
What were the two SJs you topped 8 at?
Adam:
Shone Jump Long Beach and Shonen Jump Houston.
Ally:
Nice. What were you running and what place did you
finish at both?
Adam: In
Long Beach I ran a deck with no tributes except for
Cybers....it had a warrior engine with numerous
flips and protection. In Houston I ran a gadget
monarch deck that I got from Emon...
Adam: I lost in top8 at both to some
ridiculous stuff.
Ally: What was the ridiculous stuff
you lost too?
Adam: One was a topdecked Snatch when
he had no cards and in Houston I lost to Kris
Perovic, and he's obviously a great player so it’s
ok.
Ally:
How you feel the first time you topped 8 Long Beach?
Adam: I
felt awesome I had never really tasted the glory of
top8ing such a big event before...regioanls don't
really count.
Ally:
It didn't feel good to top 8 your first regional?
;)
Adam: Haha yea that too, but it
eventually got old and I wanted more haha.
Ally:
Yeah top 8ing regionals can get pretty old :P. What
were you running with at your first regional?
Adam: Umm
warriors they were always one of my favorite decks
Ally: Why’s that?
Adam: I've just always like the
toolbox idea it’s really consistent...well used to
be.
Ally:
Yeah. Well onto the big event. How was the trip to
USA nationals?
Adam: It
was great...I couldn't have asked for a better
experience...I had a great time hanging out with
everyone and meeting the people I didn't know.
Ally:
You never expected to do this good at nationals did
you?
Adam: I
always thought I had a good shot to t16, but it
surprised me I won. I think I deserved it though,
and I'm very thankful.
Ally:
Glad you are. What you decide to run at nationals?
Adam: I
ran regular Monarchs as their most consistent deck
available right now.
Ally:
Yeah they are. Well they always been consistent
after goat format IMO that is. Were there times
during the Swiss rounds that you thought you
couldn't win?
Adam: Yea
I really had some hard games that really tested me,
and I pulled it out.
Ally:
Nice. What was your hardest match ups?
Adam: My
match against John Jensen was very hard, and I ended
up losing...my top 4 and finals were also 2 great
matches.
Ally:
Oh? How you lose against John and who you have to
play in top 16 and so on?
Adam: In
game 3 against John; I drew a very bad hand...in top
16 I played Fili Luna and then 3 people that aren't
as well known.
Ally:
How did you bear Fili?
Adam: I
drew some pretty good hands, and he had some pretty
bad tops late game it was good games though.
Ally:
Wow that's bad. Can you please tell the readers a
little bit about your final match?
Adam: Well
1st game my hand was horrible all monoesters, and he
overpowered me with endless monarchs...second game I
also had a bad hand but I made a huge play with
morphing that won me the game and third game I
actually had a pretty good hand and ended up
winning.
Ally:
Yeah I remembered second game, you Special Summoned
Cyber Dragon, played, Brain Control, and then Snatch
Steal right?
Adam: Yep
mirror was gone so he couldn't have anything to save
him.
Ally:
I saw. Oh why you hold onto Heavy Storm in game 2
when he set three cards. Were you just waiting for
the big catch?
Adam: Yea
there was no point to play heavy without a push, so
I just waited and it worked out.
Ally:
Smart move. What you win at the event and how were
you able to get the TV home?
Adam: I
won a trophy, a laptop computer, a 42 inch plasma
TV, and a home theatre system...they are going to
ship it too me.
Ally:
Nice. You are going to world’s right?
Adam: Yep
I can't wait!
Ally: You possibly going to bring a
new deck type to worlds?
Adam: Well have to see what
happens...I really don't know yet for sure
Ally:
Well good luck at worlds! Now onto a different
subject; what team are you on?
Adam: I
just joined Team Overdose, and to any1 who thinks I
only got on because I won natz you’re
wrong...Anthony has wanted to put me on for a while
now...I was technically on after round 3 of natz
haha.
Ally:
Even though you haven't been on Overdose for a while
how does it feel?
Adam: It
feels great to be on a team with the greatest
players...they're all really great guys and I'm
happy to be on and I can't wait to start reppin’ at
the next event.
Ally: When is your next event?
Adam: Shonen Jump Arizona in 2 weeks.
Adam: That will be my Official first
event with Overdoes even though I was on round 3 at
natz.
Ally:
I guess you can't really count the first one since
it wasn't at the beginning of the 1st round?
Adam: Yea
I just want the point to be known that I wasn't
added to the team, because I won.
Ally:
Yes that is understandable. Well the interview is
almost over :<, so is there any advice you can give
for new players out there?
Adam: Well
all I can say is never give up...try your best to
learn as much as you can...I never thought I'd be
where I am today to that should be an example to
every out there.
Ally: That is some good advice. I
hope people will take it. Now it is the interview
:<. Can you please making a closing statement?
Adam: I just wanted to give a shout
out to my best friends Alonzo Peters and Chris Ware
and to my new team O.D...and I hope to see everyone
at events in the future
