Eight people showed up today so we just had three rounds of swiss but oddly enough there was going to be a top 4. The prizes changed though; we now get store credit equal to the entry fees taken in, split I think 60/40 but usually I can convince the other person to split.

I want to get a 3rd Cyber Dragon since they really do work quite well, but I'll probably have to go hunting for one after Christmas. Anyway the employees were joking around alot, like we actually got table numbers that we were assigned to, mostly because they were tuck there when no ones gonna go to a comic store on Christmas eve.



Round 1 vs. Michael w/ Soul Control
I lost 1-2 here, he got me in a Penguin Soldier lock (flip Penguin Soldier returning it and my only monster, repeat) two games, and mostly that lock consisted of flipping penguin soldier on my Mobius or just flipping it and then tributing for his Thestalos (which he got alot more than Zaborg or Mobius).



Round 2 vs. Pedro w/ Janky burn
I won 2-0 here quite quickly, he never has alot of stuff to do. He did send a WMC off for 5000 one game though.



Round 3 vs. Jeff w/ Janky beatdown
Again I won 2-0 really quick here, just went on a roll with getting good hands.



Semis vs. Michael
Now this time I Noblemaned his Dekoichis first game and Penguin Soldiers second game. I believe we went through 3 games since I got way behind second game (field/hand advantage of course, lp don't matter).



Finals vs. Cody w/ Pot of Avarice deck
How this deck didn't win that german tournament is beyond me, I'm totally lost on how to beat it unless it gets two horrible hands and I get godly ones. Anyway we were splitting the prizes so we rolled to see who won and he did.



So I won $12 in store credit and 4 stamps (which are basically worth $0.50 apiece), not too bad. If it was a normal week it would've been more like $30 store credit =D



Props:
-Me for getting 2 Pot of Avarice during the week, since I'm sure they'll restrict it come April 1st thanks to the beck being quite hard to beat.
-Me for making some money today to make up for the $5 I lot in a trade yesterday in MTG stuff
-Soul Control, for actually giving that Pot of Avarice deck a hard time on occasion.
-Reinforcement of the Army, for basically winning me any game I draw it in.
-The buttload of Florida people sending in tourney reports =D You all come up to Pensacola one of these days, especially since theres a regionals in Mobile, Alabama in February I believe.

-The people who say Zaborg just got playable when Soul Control decks have played 2 of each good (aka non-earth) monarch since before October 1st.



Slops:
-There only being 8 people today.
-One of the guys had an epileptic seizure second round, had to go to the hospital and everything. Apparently he gets em when he doesn't get enough sleep.
-Not being able to find a copy of Pokemon Silver in the entire town with 6 game stores that I went to.
