First off hello this is the first time I have posted a yu-gi
oh report so bear with me.My son got me into playing this
game about 2 years ago I thought it would be fun to spend
time together and it has been a blast.I've put together a
number of really good decks in that time but my favorite is
the gravekeepers because it was my first. We play at a nice
store called homefield every Saturday and it's alot of
fun, usually unless we don't make the final eight.I arrived
with both of my boys in tow ready to play(my son runs a
Ojama trio/beast deck featuring that Gyaka Panda it can be
pretty painful at times).
1st match
This kid ran the usual warrior deck with BLS (I really hate
that card)I went first I had my dream draw I played
Delinquet I pulled his BLS and he discarded Nobleman,I then
set my spy played Necrovalley and then played Royal
tribute, for those that don't know it makes both players put
all monsters in their graveyards,I lost 2 he lost the rest
of hand,I also set rite of spirit and ended my turn.He drew
didn't set anything I drew summoned Assailant flipped
spy,got a spearsoldier out and just pummeled
him(8000-5700,0).He side decked and was doing really well
until I goty Necrovalley out again and kept drilling his
spirit reaper with 2 of my spearsoldiers.
2nd match
This kid didn't really know how to play that well he had
alot of good dragon cards but I took him apart both games.
3rd match
This guy used to play an earth deck but now he was all
water,I crushed him in the first game.He side decked used
gravity bind and soemhow finished me with that huge new
Levia daidrous which is surprisingly a good card for water
decks. So we are 1-1 I side decked a Mof and away we go until
I got Necrovalley out and started killing all his Fish,he
had some good cards but he didn't have all the support cards
you need for water decks I ended up finishing him off with
Gravekeepers Chief.
Final 8
1st match
Of course you know who I get to play my son naturally,he
normally beats me except when I run my gravekeepers,he
really hates that, just like I hate when he does that Ojama
lock and uses that Panda which is now a 3300 trample to beat
you to death.I ended up getting the same draw I had in my
first duel,my son never had a chance that was over
quickly. The second match he had 2 gorilla's just killing me
I finally got rid of them only to have to deal with his
Manticores he had me on the ropes but I finally got
Necrovalley out with a gravekeepers Chief and put the beat
down on him.I win 2-0 he doesn't care and runs off to play
HALO with my other son(kids).
Semi's
Iplayed another of those warrior decks that I love to beat
up on 1st game he got BLS out early but I snatched him away
and removed him with his effect then I just used my Kycoo's
and finished him off,I just want to say that I do hate
warrior decks because they all look the same anyway he side
decked and it didn't make a difference I kept pummeling his
spirit reapers and his scapegoats,oh and I even destroyed
another overated card Reflect Bounder, what a piece of crap!!
Finals
Me vs Damian,he's a pretty good kid and a really good player
we have played each many times over the years and I think we
are evenly matched.First game went really quick he had
bigger monster's than I did and he poured it on me.The
second match was even until I got Necrovalley out and hit
him with a L. vortex(he was trying to use call for his
Jinzo)Then I pummeled yet even more spirit reapers. Now he
sidedecks and we are 1-1 he got rid of spirit reapers and
whatever else he had. This match starts off even until I hit
his cyber jar giving a field advantage he then gets that
Phoenix and Jinzo on the field and wears me down,oh well 2nd
isn't to bad praise to the gravekeepers.
props
-Damian beating me fair and square
-my kids for being as great as they are
-to me for being a dad who cares, and to all the dad/mom's
that play yu gi oh and inspire the dreams of their children.
-Greg for putting on a great tournament every Saturday
Slops
-Kids with no manners
-people who don't bring their own calculators I hate keeping
people's life points.
