     I've been in to yu-gi-oh since about August 2003.  But this is the first time I've actually competed in a tournament.  Mostly I Duel against a couple friends but since they quit playing ('cuz I kept kicking their butts) I've started seeking out opponents at my local card store.  One day I think, what the hell, I've got five bucks I'm gonna enter the tourney.
     So my dad takes me up to the store.  Now usually my dad waits outside for me to do what ever.  That was the same today.
     We get there a little late but I still get to play.  The guy running the thing tells me to go duel some guy that's hanging around the counter.

Round 1
Me Vs Some Guy

Game 1

     Now I don't have a real good memory so this isn't going to be to detailed.
     I don't really remember what happened but I'm pretty sure Some Guy kicked my butt with his Zombie deck.

Game 2

     I came back and won this game with Wave-Motion Cannon.  But Some Guy got upset because he thought you were supposed to put counters on WMC.  Then this guy told him it counts stand-by phases not counters.

Game 3

     Some Guy beat me kind of fast this time though I don't quite remember how, sorry.

Round 2
Me Vs Cory
     After my match with Some Guy, I had to wait a VERY, VERY long time for round 2 to start.  But this is probably something that happens at all the tourneys, right?

Game 1

     I'm not sure what kind of deck Cory was running but it did have BLS and Vampire Lord in it, zombie/chaos probably.
     At some point in the game, Cory summoned his BLS but I managed to tribute it and something else for Lava Golem, then put Mask of the Accursed on it so he'd lose 1500, pretty sweet huh?  But he got past this and beat me anyway, oh well.

Game 2

     I don't know why but Cory forfeited this game, guess he just couldn't take my unbeatable deck, please don't laugh.

Game 3

     Cory side decked a lot, going with a bit of a burn theme, I think.  Anyway, I lost the game because I coudn't stop a Wave-Motion Cannon, karma I guess.

Round 3

     Now I don't know if they do this at other tourneys but in this round I got what they called a Bye, which is an automatic win of the whole round.  Though I was thankful to win and not have to beat anybody, this met I had to wait a VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY, long time for the next round to start.  So I used this time to check up with my dad.  He was a little upset because he had been waiting outside for about two hours and was about ready to leave, but he said it was cool for me to play the last round.  I doubt he would have said that if he knew the tourney was going to last about another hour.

Round 4, Final round
Me Vs David.

Game 1

     I don't remember the detailes but I know David won this game.  If you've noticed, I haven't won any of the first games of any of the rounds, what's up with that?

Game 2

     While David was side decking, I decided to side deck in my Tribe Infecting Virus and my Judgment of Anubis.  When the game started, I managed to get David down to 100 life points.  Then he played Heavy Storm and I activated Judgment and selected the Tribe he had on the field.  He responded by flipping his Tribe face-down with Book of Moon.  I said you can't chain quick-plays to counter traps but he asked someone and they said you can.  By the way, I still say you can't, e-mail me if you know.  Anyway, I drew a Lava Golem next turn and won.  Yay!

Game 3

     At some point in the next game I conceded because I had no moves left.  Damn.

     All in all, it was a pretty fun tournament, even though the only win I got they gave me.  After the game, I couldn't get anyone to tell me if I won anything so I just left.  Hey, my dad had been waiting outside for me for about three hours in the Florida summer heat so don't say anything.

Props:
Getting to play even though I showed up late.
Getting that Bye in the third round.
Pulling a Messenger of Peace from one of those card machine things.
Finding out "the Lost Millennium" is out.
Seeing 50-Cent's video "Just a li'l bit," don't ask.

Slops:
Losing every round I played in.
Leaving before I found out if I won anything.
Getting the Bye.  Hey, walking around for forty-five minutes isn't as fun as it sounds.
Not getting to see all of "Just a li'l bit."
Putting fifty cents in the card machine and not getting anything.  Coincidence, I doubt it.
