Larenceville Regional
- HIRAM TAYLOR
05/14/05 The Regional started late because we wanted it to. When the Dojo asks for time you better give it or else. Now let’s move on to the report. First we didn't win so it had to be rigged. I took with me the brightest of my student... he is called Jay Action. Once we arrived I could feel the fear in the air. It is well understood that the Jake Taylor Style is based in power, mentally as well as physical. If you extend your hand in friendship, we may break it. If you raise it in anger, we will break it. Enough! No more teaching! This regional produced a lot of teams. Normally Yu Gi Oh calls for individualism however there seems to be a movement towards bonding together. I think this is a direct result of the fear that the Dojo has caused. This tournament drew some notable players. In attendance was Oscar S. ranked 1, and the Dutchman Jon H. who’s ranked 9. There was even a team from South Carolina.
Since this regional was going to be our tester for the Atlanta regional, we decided not to use side decks. Jay Action wanted to seal deck it but I thought that what be too much of a handicap. I asked Jay Act if he was ready to duel, he said yes so I gave the judge permission to start. It was now time to duel!!!
Round OneKing vs. Team South Carolina
This guy’s deck was weak but it drew well. Meaning the cards physically played well together. His mental abilities were decent but this guy seemed high on X or something.
Game 1: He draws premature, pot, graceful, heavy storm, smashing G, and a monster. I lose. Game 2: I swarmed him and took him out fast. Game 3: Again this deck draws well. We fight it out to the last 100 points. I lose.
Round TwoKing vs. monarch deck
This was a kid. Enough said!!!
Round ThreeKing vs. Chaos/control
This guy was good. He played me close the whole way. His named was Chris and he represented Colossal Games. He was strong to come from such a weak pack.
Game 1: I started out too cocky. I swarmed him on the first turn. I knew it was risky but I needed to gauge this guy. He delinquented me, removed me and took the advantage for the rest of the game. Game 2: I swarmed him and set him up with a magic jam, and a raigeki break. On his turn I block the lightning V, discarded mataza, broke his summoned monster, discarding blade knight. My next turn I drew, then summoned chaos sorcerer and GAF. I hit him for 4600 and took control. Game 3: This game ended up just about the same. I took him down.
Round FourKing vs. Keith/Beat down
This guy was good. This guy was playing poker. However I made the mistake of not attacking him for the win and he had bluffed me. He won.
Round FiveKing vs. copycat beat down/control
This was a kid. Enough said. I won.
Round SixKing vs. Net decked burn/control
I’ve seen this guy’s deck on pojo. It was totally stolen. He didn’t admit it. So I showed him no mercy. I beat this punk in two. Net deckers deserve no less.
I finished 4-2 and ranked 19th out 62. The only real thrill of the tournament was when Jay Act beat a last turn deck by book of mooning his jowen with no time left on the clock. Everyone watched this match because the other guy came with such a large team only to be defeated in front of 60+ spectators. Until next report… No mercy for the weak.
