Yugioh Tournament Reports
Beatdown Blast, Nomtra Belling, Hobby World, San Jose, California - CoolOrdinaryChap
Date Of Tourney: July 11, 2006
Number of people who attended: about 15-17
Deck: Note: In this tourney, there were no rules about restricted cards such as Raigeki, Mirror Force, etc.
Total Deck Count: 40
First Opponent: Nubar Tongnaes I was very unlucky in the sense that I had a very tough opponent in my first duel. He claimed he was from Africa. His tribe in Africa had barely heard of duel monsters, but he was from a rich family, and his family moved from an ancient African Bantu tribe to San Jose. I was surprised he was so good.
He started out by using Raigeki to clear the field. He began to attack me with 1900 attackers. Nothing much. I began to get worried when he brought me down to 1300 LP! He had 6200 (I attacked with my La Jinn once.) He had a horde of attackers, all with 1900 attacks. I hoped for the best and I drew Mirror Force! That put an end to his beasts. Then, I summoned Gemini Elf and unleashed upon him a torrent of attacks. He had no more monsters, and lost. The next duel went in a similar way, he brought me close to defeat but I won.
Second Opponent: Shang Long Tsaio This opponent was very tough. I lost the first duel because he used Harpies Feather Duster in combo with Raigeki to do a Field-Wipe. Ouch! He then used Monster Reborn to revive powerful monsters and attacked me with 1900 attackers. I lost the first duel. The next one went in the same way. Shang Long Tsaio, however, made a grave error that cost him the duel. He played Harpies Feather Duster in combo with Raigeki and then I realized something fishy. He rigged his deck! I accused him of cheating, and Hobby World authorities looked through his deck. I was right. He kept cards like Harpies Feather Duster and Raigeki together, as well as Dark Hole and Monster Reborn, and Call Of The Haunted with Jinzo, etc. Shang Long Tsaio was kicked out the tournament. I won.
Last Opponent: Jean De LApportihre le III Deathly powerful opponent. French. He spoke with a heavy French accent. He beat me by using cleverness. He claimed he traveled around the world in Math competitions. He was about 11 and he could do Calculus. Duel monsters to him, he said, was nothing more than a game which requires a vector of math to accomplish. He defeated me easily for both rounds.
Result: 2nd place! Yippaeee!!!
