This deck packs an awesome deck thinning engine. Pretty much get most of your monsters out of your deck. I don’t remember the side deck much. But it had another Lightning Vortex and Decrees.
We come in five minutes late (yup) but they didn’t start till 1:20 so it was no big deal. Me, Jacob, and Peter came together while Ben drove on his own (I’m so proud). I come in, ready to throw all my money at anything Yugioh, and buy a Special Edition Dino Deck. Ooh, Magical Arm Shield. I also buy an empty Vs. System Tin for a dollar (I need to put my Vs. cards somewhere.) and a MHG Vs. Pack for my little brother. In the Power of the Duelist Pack, I pull Supercharge. I look at my new (nice smelling) Dinosaurs until the rounds were announced.
Me vs. Jacob Yay. I come all this way to face against my friend on the first round. He was playing a Rabid Horseman Deck just to be stupid. I start by slowly putting my Vs. cards from my Yugioh book in my new tin. “Are we starting yet?” He asked with his five cards already drawn. “Let me finish with my character cards,” I said. 2 minutes pass. “You can go first,” He said. “Almost Done…Okay,” I start shuffling.” Can I listen to my music?” “Sure” “Yay!” “Can I listen to mine?” Some people are just so rude. But I let him anyway.
Me: 8000-6200 (Ringed his Chiron)- 5600 (Premature). Jacob: 8000- 7800 (Battle damage by something)-6400 (Tomato)-4700 (Tomato Reaper Team Attack)- 1900 ( Chiron got engaged)- 100 (Kycoo Directly)- 0 (Blowback ftw)
Well that was kinda one sided.
Me: 8000- 7300 (His Enraged Battle Ox Attacked my Dekoichi) - 6300-4600-4100-1400 Jacob: 8000- 5300 (Ringed his Behemoth King)- 3900 (Tomato)- 2200 (Strike)- 500 (2 Strikes)-100 (Blowback attacks Breaker with Token)- Scoop
He could’ve won that one. I had a Strike Ninja, Swords of Revealing Light, and a Face-Down Torrent while he had 1900 Breaker. He plays Fissure on my Ninja who vanishes in the nick of time. Now he then could have used Breakers effect on Swords and attacked for game. But he didn’t. I explained that he could have won that one to him after the match was over. He slapped himself.
1-0 Yay!
Round 2 Me vs.(I’m gonna spell this wrong) Julian
Monarchs, Monarchs! How can you win with such a predictable deck!
Me: 8000-7000-5600-4800-3600-2800-Lucksack Julian: 8000-7200-7000-6000-5600-5500-5100-600-0
This game was a lusksack game for me because Julian was facing a Dark Mage of Chaos with no cards and topdecked his Ring and sets it and ends. I draw, he activates the Ring during the Standby to tie the game but then I chained the Book of Moon I just drew! If he activated it during my draw phase, it would’ve been a tie.
Me: 8000-6400 (my own creature swapped tomato)-5000 (again with the Fruit)- 3600 (Okay the Tomato dies!)- 1200 (Tomato Dies for Zaborg) Julian: 8000-6800-5200-3800-3000-1300-0
Betrayed from my own Tomato. At one point, someone said that Strike Ninja can’t dodge Saku or Mirror Force. I think he’s drugged to think so, cause ude.com says that he can’t activate his effect during the Battle Step, but Saku activates at the beginning of the attack step. Someone verify this!
2-0 Yay!
Down to the final four, me, Peter, Ben, and William. Peter and Ben are my brothers so I knew I could take them. But alas, just so I wouldn’t get more than one pack, I face William.
Round Three Me vs. William
Monarchs, I’ve just beaten one! I wanted to play one of my brothers’ Mausoleum decks (both were running a variant). I get owned. Well not quite, I won one round…
Me: 8000-5600-4000-0 Will-8000-6300 (directly with Strike)
This one was fast. I had no monsters but a lone Strike Ninja and he had Monarchs out the Wazoo. Over in Four Turns
I side deck some Decrees and another Vortex. Only the Vortex Helped in this Round
Me: 8000-6400-4300 Will: 8000-7000-5400-4000-3800-1700-0
I creature Swapped a Goat for his Cydragon. There was a confusion on Life Points at one Point. But after looking through his graveyard, we came up with a number (we were both wrong).
Me: 8000-5600 (Zaborg)- 2800 (Mobiused)- 400 (Thestalos)- 0 (Prematured Monarch) Will: 8000-7200
I remember Top Decking Vortex to destroy three monarchs. He Premed for game.
Ouch. Lost my chance at top two. Oh well, next time I will win!
I get a Millenium Golem, Nekogal #2, and a Last Will from my TP7. Jacob gets an Amazoness Swordswoman though. I also buy a DB2 pack and get a rare RoTA
Props: - Beating at least one Monarch Deck - Going to another tourney - Peter getting second - Losing to the first place Winner
Slops - Losing to first place winner - Not getting a Prizonman from my pack! Jacob, Ben and Peter got one! - Spending a lot of money - Having as many Slops as Props
