Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD
GAME EVENT BRINGS OVER THIRTEEN THOUSAND FANS NATIONWIDE TO
‘SNEAK PREVIEW’ NEW FLAMING ETERNITY SET
‘Flaming Eternity’ Sneak
Preview Event Attendance Doubles November 2004 Release
Celebration Turn-Out
CARLSBAD – March 31, 2005 – Over thirteen thousand excited
Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME fans gathered the weekend of
February 26 to preview the newest set to be released in the
Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG series – Flaming Eternity. Upper Deck
Entertainment (UDE) Premier Tournament Organizers (PTOs)
hosted Flaming Eternity Sneak Preview Events throughout
various countries across North America, Latin America, and
Oceana, in which eager Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG fans had the chance to
take an advanced look at the never-before-seen set. The
recent Flaming Eternity Sneak Preview Event attendance
nearly doubles last November’s Rise of Destiny Sneak Preview
Event, which attracted over 6,000 attendees throughout all
locations worldwide.
According to final registration numbers, the top markets
included Los Angeles, which recorded over 1200 participants,
San Diego and Dallas, who each confirmed 600 attendees, and
Orlando, which tallied over 800 attendees.
Winners of the Sneak Preview tournaments are given an
opportunity to play with cards not yet available in hobby or
retail outlets, and win various prizes, which include
Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG product, and the highly sought after “Cyber
Harpie Lady,” a card made available through partnership with
the North American version of the hugely popular SHONEN JUMP
Magazine. This was the first time the card was offered
outside of Japan, in English.
The Flaming Eternity set is currently available in
participating hobby and retail stores across North America.
The 60-card set offers new game play options with monsters
that can revive from the graveyard, and new cards that
reward long-term, carefully planned strategies. Yu-Gi-Oh!
TCG fans can look forward to new Beast-Type monsters -- lead
by the ferocious “Behemoth, the King of All Animals,” new
Fusion Monsters – which includes the new “Hex Sealed
Fusions,” and the new Spell Card “Big March of Animals.”
The next Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Sneak Preview will be
for The Lost Millennium. Tournaments will run worldwide on
the weekend of May 28-29. Details will be available on
www.yugiohpreview.com. Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG fans can look forward
to additional promotional cards with SHONEN JUMP from VIZ,
LLC -- which recently announced its upcoming merger with
ShoPro Entertainment -- such as the “Amazoness Chain Master”
card throughout the year.
The demand for booster sets has continued to increase as
more Duelists join the game and compete in the Duelist King
Tournament, held in neighborhood hobby stores across North
America. Currently, more than 700,000 duelists are
registered in more than 7,000 stores across North America.
The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG is a product of the KONAMI CORPORATION,
and is distributed worldwide (with the exception of Asia) by
the Upper Deck Company.
