THANH NGUYEN CAPTURES THE TITLE AT PHILADELPHIA’S Yu-Gi-Oh!
CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES EVENT
City of Brotherly Love is the Latest Stop
in Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series World Tour
EL SEGUNDO, CA (October 12, 2010) –
After fourteen rounds of preliminary play in this city
steeped in hallowed history, the halls were abuzz at the
modern
Philadelphia
Convention Center as the final round of the Yu-Gi-Oh!
Championship Series got underway. Thanh Nguyen of Royal Oak,
Michigan beat out hundreds of hopeful Duelists to earn the
title of Champion at Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc’s.
(Konami) Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (YCS), one of the
premier-level Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) events held
throughout the year. This tournament matched nearly 950
Duelists against each other in face-to-face competition, all
looking for a chance at recognition and incredible prizes.
Thanh expertly utilized a Plant Synchro Deck, while his
opponent, Kenny Kwan of Astoria, New York countered with a
Quickdraw Dandywarrior Deck. As the time ticked away,
Kwan’s strategy collapsed as Nguyen’s stayed steady and
strong for the win.
Nguyen earned a tremendous prize package that included a set
of Ultra Rare YCS Prize Cards, an exclusive YCS Game Mat, a
netbook computer, a paid trip to his 2011 World Championship
Qualifier, and more!
