CHICAGOLAND BRACES FOR A SURGE OF DUELISTS AS THE Yu-Gi-Oh!
CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES BLOWS INTO TOWN
APRIL 28th – 29th
El Segundo, CA (April 13, 2012) –
Duelists from across the Midwest, eager to test their honed
strategies and show off their fine-tuned Decks will get that
opportunity April 28th - 29th as the
Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (YCS) comes to Chicagoland.
Hundreds of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Duelists from the
region are expected to participate in this premier-level Yu-Gi-Oh!
TCG event from Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (Konami),
to be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in
Rosemont (IL).
The YCS Chicago promises two days of incredible Dueling
action, pitting Duelists in rigorous head-to-head
competition, each one yearning to earn a spot at Sunday’s
decisive Final Round and to ultimately attain the title of
Champion.

Duelists can also participate in a wide variety of fun and
challenging Public Events to push their Dueling skills to
the limit! Konami will be conducting a host of events such
as Regional Qualifiers, 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling, ATTACK OF THE
GIANT CARD!!, Classic Drafts, Dawn of the Xyz Starter
Tournaments, Retro Drafts and Win-A-Mats.
Konami will also have an eight-player, single-elimination
Sealed Deck Tournament at YCS Chicago! This tournament
format will feature the recently released Dragons Collide
Structure Deck and each Sealed Deck Tournament winner
will get an exclusive Dragons Collide Structure Deck
Game Mat! For a $10 entry fee, each player will receive a
sealed Dragons Collide Structure Deck and is required
to use those cards in the box as their Deck for that event.
The Main Event winner, the two runners-up and winners of
Sunday’s two Public Event playoffs will each be awarded a
YCS prize card. The Main Event winner will take home
an Ultra Rare version of the Blood Mefist prize card,
with the other winners bringing home Super Rare versions.

Paid travel to their World Championship Qualifier (if
underage, then winner and guardian) or a local-market YCS
(flight and accommodations) if the Duelist has already won
an earlier YCS in the current year; YCS Top Cut Game Mat;
250GB game console; and an invite to their 2012 World
Championship Qualifier tournament
2nd place
– Super Rare Blood Mefist YCS Prize Card; 32 GB
Tablet PC with redemption codes for Konami Mobile games; YCS
Top Cut Game Mat; and an invite to their 2012 World
Championship Qualifier
3rd place
– Super Rare Blood Mefist YCS Prize Card; 32 GB Touch
Screen MP3 Player with redemption codes for Konami Mobile
