SOUTH AMERICAN Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME CHAMPION TO BE DECIDED

JUNE 23^rd – 24^th IN BOGOTA, COLOMBIA

El Segundo, CA (June 12, 2012) – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (Konami) brings Duelists from all over South America to Bogota, the capital and largest city of Colombia, for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) South American World Championship Qualifier (WCQ). The winner of this exclusive, invite-only tournament will represent South America at the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship. After months of skillful play at qualifying events and fine-tuning their Decks, those that have earned an invite will showcase their talents and strategies on June 23-24 at the Hotel Royal Park Metrotel. There will also be last chance qualifiers for the main and Dragon Duel events on Friday, June 22^nd.

Hundreds of Duels will be played during the weekend event as some of the best players face off against each other.  There will be plenty of intense head-to-head Dueling because all it takes is one misstep to be knocked out of the tournament. The competition starts from Round One on Saturday and climaxes at the Final Round Sunday, with every Duelist hoping to be the one destined to go to Tokyo, Japan to represent South America at the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship on August 11-12.

For the first time ever, Konami will hold a two-day Dragon Duel Championship for Duelists born 1999 or later during the same weekend (June 23-24) at the South American WCQ. The top finisher in the Dragon Duel Championship will also be going to Tokyo, Japan to play against other top Dragon Duelists in the inaugural Dragon Duel World Championship.

Additionally, Duelists can participate in a wide variety of fun and challenging Public Events to push their Dueling skills to the limit! Konami will be conducting a host of events such as Regional Qualifiers, 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling, ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Win-A-Mats, Classic Drafts, Retro Drafts, and the newest Sealed Pack Tournaments for Battle Pack: Epic Dawn featuring exclusive Starfoil prize cards only available at premier events. 

South American WCQ Prize Information:

• The Top 4 players will receive a Championship Trophy
• The Top 16 players will receive a Super Rare Blood Mefist – Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (YCS) Prize Card
• The Top Cut (depending on attendance) will receive a WCQ Top Cut Game Mat
• All participants will receive a 2012 WCQ Game Mat and a pack of 2012 WCQ Sleeves.

1st place – Invite to World Championship with travel and accommodations, Complete Set of Galactic Overlord, Super Rare Blood Mefist YCS Prize Card, 64GB Tablet PC

2nd place – 32 GB Touch Screen MP3 Player, Complete Set of Order of Chaos and Galactic Overlord, and a Super Rare Blood Mefist YCS Prize Card

3rd & 4th place – Complete Set of Order of Chaos and Galactic Overlord and a Super Rare Blood Mefist YCS Prize Card

5th – 8th place – Complete Set of Galactic Overlord

9th – 16th place – 6 Booster Packs each of Generation Force, Photon Shockwave, Order of Chaos, and Galactic Overlord
