KONAMI DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT INTRODUCES Yu-Gi-Oh! SCHOOL TOURNAMENT SERIES

Debut Event in Providence, Rhode Island May 28

El Segundo, Calif. (May 5, 2016) – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) is thrilled to announce a fantastic addition to

their already extensive Organized Play program, the Yu-Gi-Oh! School Tournament Series. These premier-level competitive events for the massively popular Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) give Duelists across the nation the chance to team up with their classmates and challenge fellow Duelists from other schools!

“We have seen many players from the same school at our events competing against each other so we decided why not team up these talented Duelists and have them Duel against teams from other schools,” said Yumi Hoashi, Senior Vice President, Card Business for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “We will be kicking off the School Tournament Series on May 28 at the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (YCS) Providence, Rhode Island.”

The Yu-Gi-Oh! School Tournament Series is designed specifically for students who want to attend and have fun competing at KONAMI premier-level events. Players from the same school can register as a team to compete for a variety of prizes, such as a donation back to the winning team’s school, collectible Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG product and a team plaque. To commemorate this inaugural event, all participants of the Yu-Gi-Oh! School Tournament Series will receive an exclusive, Yu-Gi-Oh! branded Journal!

The Yu-Gi-Oh! School Tournament Series are conducted as Advanced Format, Constructed Deck, Swiss Round events, with a Playoff Top Cut and prizes awarded at the end of the final playoff. Duelists will play Single Game Matches, with a team’s Round Results consisting of the combined Match Results for each Team member. Each Round in the Yu-Gi-Oh! School Tournament Series is 20 minutes long. All Team members must be at least 13 years old and enrolled, in good standing, at the same school. For more information about the Yu-Gi-Oh! School Tournament Series, please go to http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/schooltournamentseries/.
