GX Episode Summary
66. Going Bananas
by HevyMtalKing
Syrus and Hassleberry are in the Slifer Red cafeteria
dedicating their food to Jaden, who is still missing
since running away from Duel Academy after his loss to
Aster Phoenix. Meanwhile, Jaden is wandering through the
forest and collapses from a lack of food. Wheeler is
seen carrying around some stuff and happens to find
Jaden on the ground.
Wheeler does everything to wake up Jaden, but Jaden
starts to hallucinate and think that Dr. Crowler is
talking to him. Jaden then has a flashback of his very
first duel at the academy where he took on the Ancient
Gear Golem with his Elemental Hero Flame Wingman and won
that very duel.
Still trying to wake Jaden up, Wheeler moves around a
bit and starts to sound like Bastion. Jaden then has a
flashback to his duel with Bastion to determine who
would represent Duel Academy. Bastion had his Litmus
Doom Swordsman in play while Jaden was handicapped from
using fusions due to a card that was played earlier in
the duel. After losing his Bladedge to an attack from
the swordsman and his Skyscraper to Wingbeat of Giant
Dragon, Jaden had summoned an Elemental Hero Wildheart
causing Bastion to activate Spirit Barrier. Since a
continuous trap card was in play, Bastion's swordsman
has an ATK of 3000. Jaden then equips Cyclone Boomerang
to Wildheart and then attacks the swordsman causing the
Boomerang's effect to trigger. Bastion's Spirit Barrier
was destroyed and his final 500 points with it.
Despite the flashbacks that Jaden is having, Wheeler
thinks that Jaden is merely daydreaming and then
continues his effort to wake up Jaden. Jaden then starts
to think that Chazz is waking him up. This brings him to
a flashback of a duel where Chazz loaded his deck with
rare cards. He had a VWXYZ Dragon Canon in play while
Jaden's defenses were minimal...well...zero actually. He
summoned an Elemental Hero Burstinatrix in defense mode.
Chazz merely used his monster's effect to switch her
into attack mode and wipe her out along with a great
portion of Jaden's life points. Jaden then drew
Transcendent Wings and placed it face down while
summoning Winged Kuriboh in defense mode. Chazz then
attacks Kuriboh triggering the Transcendent Wings card
that Jaden had played face down. Jaden was now able to
make his Winged Kuriboh into a Winged Kuriboh Lv 10.
Jaden used its effect to destroy Chazz's monster and
inflict damage to his life points equal to its attack.
Jaden then summoned an Elemental Hero Avian and won with
a direct attack.
After reliving that duel, we see Wheeler almost give up
trying to wake Jaden up. We then see Jaden having a
flashback of his duel with Zane when Jaden was trying to
help out Syrus before their tag team duel. This was the
very first duel that Jaden had lost after his Elemental
Hero Mudball Man was trounced by a Power Bond enforced
Cyber End Dragon.
Wheeler has tried nearly everything to wake Jaden. He
then begins to repeatedly slap the taste out of Jaden
from frustration. Jaden wakes up to find that Wheeler
had brought him bananas and water to save Jaden's life.
After chowing down on bananas, Jaden thanks Wheeler and
begins to head towards Duel Academy. What Wheeler knows
and Jaden doesn't know is that Jaden is heading in the
opposite direction.
