After a second lottery is played, it is discovered that Joey will be facing Odion, who is posing as Marik. While Yugi is worried that Odion will use the

(fake) Millennium Rod, Odion puts it into his belt. As the duel begins, Odion plays the magic Temple of the Kings, and it appears behind him.
Through the duel, Odion plays only trap cards, and Joey says that his deck is weak without monsters. He summons a team of monsters, but is decimated by

one of Odion's traps. Odion mocks Joey's foolishness. Joey, however, manages

to come back with a trap of his own. Unfased, Odion unleashes a new breed of

card known as a Trap Monster, which activates like a trap but can attack like a monster. Odion unveals three such cards, the Embodiments of Apopis, and ends his turn.
