Rj's Deck Garage Hey guys, whats up :D. Back today with a regional report, kinda mini one ;/. So we wake up really early Saturday morning, I build my deck (I had it made already, just hadn't built it irl because I haven't played irl in months, mostly.), and start feeling really sick. I go to the bathroom, go grab a drink, pack up my stuff, and we head off to Nashville. Either way, we get there and it starts like 45 minutes late, because the scrubby owner wants to let everyone in, money grubber ;/. Round One Me VS A little girl I watched this girl play before the regional, and she was surprisingly smart, card wise. It was cute too, because she seriously was only like 7/8. I won 2-0, she did bring out Master of Oz, Big Koala, and another fattie, that was funny haha. Round Two Me VS Stephen, I think. He had already Q'd in knoxville, and was running a stall mill. I have Mobius, Breaker, 2 Dust, Mslv2, Heavy, and MST all mained, and I drew Mobius + RoTA first hand, so it was over quick. Game 2, I know I have this in the bag, so I start siding hardcore for fun, I sided like 12, haha. I win 2-0. Round Three Me VS Team Rave Member, don't remember your name ;/. Cool guys, ran that Hydro card from CRV. I do the usual, take my life down in order to gain card advantage, at the last turn I had Mobius, a f/d monster, and 4 cards in hand, he just has one card in hand. He topdecks Dark Hole, and summons his monster, hits me for game. Thats fine. Game two, I just dominate. Its rape, Don takes his hand out very quickly. Game three, I gain a lot of adv again, but he tops his way out. Thats fine. Round Four I don't remember who I play, but I win very quickly. Round Five Me VS Random Before match, I ask if this is his first regional, it is. But, he, quote "has been to alot of locals". ;zzz. I rape first game, hardcore mad. Second game, he tops premature clutch ;[. Third game, it comes down to his only chance to win is me hitting his goldd off of my reaper hit, out of 3/4 cards, and of course I hit it. He think rips Premature for Berserk, and hits me for alot, I turn my reaper to defense, and he topdecks smashing. Thats fine. Round Six I played a opponent who didnt really seem like he cared about winning much, it would normally be an easy match. I lose first game to a topdecked snatch, though. I had 6 cards to his none, but I dont draw any removal all day ;/. Sakus, MST, etc. I roll round two, it was no contest. Game three, omg. He has Breaker out, I have nothing after he lucksacks. I draw reaper, set it. He summons Reflect Bounder, hits reaper, nothing happens. I draw PoA, with only 4 monsters in grave, set it. He proceeds to top BoM, and sets it. I topdeck something dead, and end. He topdecks Premature for MsLv2. ... He BoM's reaper, and Prematures MsLv2 to hit me for game. I drop. After this event, I've realized how bad this format actually is. After testing against great players online (Jae kim, Chris SoRelle, and Glenn Schumann to name a few), I thought I had a handle on this format, and I had only been lucksacked once or twice online, but after this event, I have realized alot of things. It makes me sad though, because UDE/Konami is just going to screw up the next list, instead of hiring someone smart to make the list (Majin from Alpha Omega, Our national champ, max, and Jaelove are some good candidates.). I'll play at orlando, but no more events for me this format. Expect a follow up article in the next few days. -RJ
