Rj's Deck Garage It sucks. Huh? You wanted me to lighten the tempo of the article, making is all smooth and THEN bust out with my "LOL it suck" argument? Tough. Too bad. It doesn't deserve that. Many reasons why this format is so bad, and in my opinion (And I share this opinion with greats like Jae Kim, and rising stars Dave Piercy and Chris SoRelle.) its the worst format Yu-Gi-Oh! has seen. It boils down to the lack of themed decks, the topdecking wars that happen almost every game (Depending on what decks the players are using, obviously.), these two things make this format very luck based. Ask anybody that's anybody if two players are using the SAME DECK (Even with 5/6 cards difference.), how much will luck impact the outcome of the match? I DID ask anybody that was anybody, actually, I asked somebody better, Matt Peddle. He gave me the answer I'm about to give you: ALOT. ALOT of luck. Two good players, same decks, luck will be involved. Who topdecks better, who draws the best hand. But even then, I've lost 7 times in 2 regionals this season. Compared to last season when I lost 7 matches, and scooped about 10 more, out of 7/8 regionals. Out of all the losses this season, those 7 losses, I claim one to skill or being outplayed, my round 3 match in a Mobile Alabama regional, playing against my team mate, Justin Warren. The rest of my losses have been to topdecks. I usually give away about 3/4 thousand life points to gain serious card advantage, and all my losses that I've tooken in this season, have been to me having 3/4 more cards then my opponent, but them topdecking Snatch Steal/Dark Hole for the win, just because of my life points and my not being able to draw defense. I thought I had a good grasp on the format. After testing rigorously online with amazing players (Including the three I mentioned above, Jae kim, Dave Piercy, and Chris SoRelle.), I had done well. But YVD is a totally different medium to play on, then in real life. JAELOVE has already discussed how to fix the game, reference back to his last few articles in JAELOVES Smooth Journey to read up on them. He has made possibly the best list I've seen yet (And hes been the first one to spot the brokenness of Winged Kuriboh and Unhappy Maiden :D.), and his views on the current format and its flaws are the best I've heard, and are backed up by his flawless logic on these subjects. Good Job Jae/ My stance on this format is pretty clear. If Konami/UDE doesnt do something to fix the state of the game soon, they're going to lose alot of players because of this. Including yours truly. I may write a followup article, we'll see what kind of feedback I get on this. RjAkaPeanut4u@gmail.com -RJ
