WiCkEd's Deck Garage
Hey readers! Let me begin by first off giving kudos to Team Savage,
Jae Kim (JAELOVE) placed second and the duels were an absolutely wonderful
read on Metagame. Great work Jae, and team Savage. Great work to Anthony
too, he's god some mad luck and an overall great attitude as it seems from
Metagame. I'm hoping to see more of Team Overdose and finally meet Team
Savage at the Indianapolis SJC in Augest. Anyways, onto the deck article of
the day. We've got the infamous Rock deck, but, which direction should we
take it? Monks, Megarock Dragon, or Rock Burner? Well, for today, we'll be
constructing Megarock Dragon deck. So, moving along, let's get into it here.
TLM-EN015 Mega-Rock Dragon A beast
indeed. Although this card can reach massive heights in terms of attack, the
deck as a whole can't go too competitive, however, in the deck I'm going to
build, it'll be the more competitive side the deck can get to, so hope
you're up for a good read. Onto some new monsters we'll be using:
TLM-EN022 Medusa Worm
TLM-EN011 Lost Guardian
TLM-EN014 Moai Interceptor Cannons
TLM-EN018 Mine Golem
Earth/Rock/3/1000/1900
TLM-EN016 Dummy Golem OK, so
basically, we have the Megarock, who will be our prime focus, then we come
into a fork in the road defender wise. You can use either Lost Guardian, who
totally depends on your use of Megarock Dragon, Moai Interceptor Cannons,
which are solid, and confirmed DEF defenders, or Mine Golem, which have the
added Burn damage to them and Trap support card. Medusa Worm is optional as
a tech card, or offensive/defensive card. Dummy Golem, will probably be
errata'd like Brain Jacker, etc, but that's no reason NOT to try it out.
Switching this little guy for an Envoy isn't too bad. = ) Let's
move along into Rock support that TLM dished out.
TLM-EN055 Rock Bombardment
TLM-EN051 Minefield Eruption
Trap/Normal
Although 2 cards are what we have for support, we're going to be using Rock
Bombardment, since Minefield Eruption is a tad "too" situational for this
build. So, how
should you run this deck to make it seem competitive? Good question. Notice
how Megarock Dragon depends on how many monsters you remove from the game to
base its attack. What cards come to mind to support this theme? Dimension
Fusion or Return From a Different Dimension. Removing Rock monsters and not
being able to revive them isn't totally horrible now. Now, to clear up
another thing, Megarock's stats are ?/? this means you CANNOT use Sangan to
pull it out of your deck. This means we're going to need speed, so to give
that, you're going to be using Morphing Jar #1, the original Tournament one,
which will be in DB2 soon enough. So,
moving into the monster build of the deck, here we go:
2 x Megarock Dragon
1 x Morphing Jar
2 x Gigantes
2 x Moai Interceptor Cannons/Medusa Worm/Mine
Golem/Lost Guardian
2 x Medusa Worm
1 x Cyber Jar
1 x Sangan
1 x Tribe-Infecting Virus
1 x Breaker the Magical Warrior
1 x Sinister Serpent
1 x D.D. Warrior Lady/D.D. Assailant
2 x Giant Rat
1 x Tsukuyomi/Dummy Golem
TOTAL: 17 OK, the
line-up has the potential of 9 potential monsters to remove for Megarock
Dragon, which means he'd be 6300/6300, but I discourage trying to do this,
for it could lead to trouble later. Typically you don't want to give him for
than 2800-3500 attack, which means, remove 4 to 5 Rock monsters from your
Graveyard. Going anything higher than that is far too risky to try and
succeed with. Note, there is only one Dummy Golem for the fact you really
don't want to run too many little guys to have them trampled and smacked all
over, so with the defenders and Medusa Worm, we've got some offensive and
high defenders to go against most mainstream monsters you may encounter. Onto
the Magic and Trap line-up, and then the final copy of the deck, also note,
Rock's have only 2 cards dedicated to them that could truly work, so
basically, this line-up outside Rock Bombardment is basically your everyday
line-up. It's disappointing to some, but until Rocks get a bit more support
this is how it has to go. 1 x Pot
of Greed 1 x
Graceful Charity 1 x
Delinquent Duo 1 x
Snatch Steal 1 x
Heavy Storm 2 x
Nobleman of Crossout 2 x
Book of Moon 1 x
Premature Burial 1 x
Mystical Space Typhoon 1 x
Smashing Ground 1 x
Brain Control/ Mind Control 2 x
Scapegoat 1 x
Ring of Destruction 1 x
Mirror Force 1 x
Torrential Tribute 1 x
Call of the Haunted 2 x
Rock Bombardment 2 x
Return From a Different Dimension So, the
final copy is:
MEGAROCK DRAGON DECK (competitive build)
2 x Megarock Dragon
1 x Morphing Jar
2 x Gigantes
2 x Moai Interceptor Cannons/Medusa Worm/Mine
Golem/Lost Guardian
2 x Medusa Worm
1 x Cyber Jar
1 x Sangan
1 x Tribe-Infecting Virus
1 x Breaker the Magical Warrior
1 x Sinister Serpent
1 x D.D. Warrior Lady/D.D. Assailant
2 x Giant Rat
1 x Tsukuyomi/Dummy Golem 1 x Pot
of Greed 1 x
Graceful Charity 1 x
Delinquent Duo 1 x
Snatch Steal 1 x
Heavy Storm 2 x

Brain Control/ Mind Control 2 x

Mirror Force 1 x
Torrential Tribute 1 x

Rock Bombardment 2 x
Return From a Different Dimension
OK, there you have it readers. Competitive Megarock deck,
probably in its prime, I know I'm going to construct it as soon as I can get
a hold of 2 Megarock Dragons = ). I hope you enjoyed this article, and
although there are no fixes this week, feel free to keep submitting decks,
there will be another article out probably Wednesday or Thursday still TLM
based, so we'll see what happens. Thanks for reading this guys!
