Tuesday -- White Hole

First off this is my first COTD, but hopefully not my last. I like to thank NickWhiz1 for getting me this, Thank You very much. Now on with the COTD.

Introduction: It's a trap card and basically all it does it counter off black hole.

Why should you use it?
*Saves your monster
*Kills opponent instead of yours.

Why shouldn't you use it?
*Waste of space
*Too specific on one card.
*Other good "counter" traps you can use.

Reasons: Obviously you can see it saves your monster and your opponent is saying "Here I want to Raigeki myself!" But honestly that be a good suprise, but not worth it, simply because you can only use one Dark Hole. There is another card like this call Lighting Rod coming out in the futhure, but it just ment for Raigeki. But there is always the MoF combo, but your opponent will more likely get the raigeki. In my opinion I rather go with Magic Jammer or Solemn Judgement because it's less specific on just countering one card. Finally odds, what are the odds that you would have this trap card on the field long enough for your opponent to dark hole? Cards on the field barely last 4 turns most with the current environment.

Rating: Well I really see as a useless card, the only way if I play it is if they banned Raigeki and let you use 3 Dark Hole, but when is that going to happen? So for this reason I give it a 1.5 and that is my final answer.

Conclusion: Don't use it!

Tuesday -  White Hole

Today's COTD is White Hole.  It's a normal trap that
saves your monsters from dark hole.

This card is basically the counter to dark hole.  As
you all know, dark hole is restricted to 1.  You
should take every chance you get at negating a
restricted card right?  Well, if drawn and played at
the right time, white hole can be extremely effective,
but it's a much better choice to go with magic jammer
instead.  Magic jammer, in addition to being able to
stop dark hole, can also stop any other magic card,
making it more versatile.

But this card does have 1 thing over magic jammer.  If
you play white hole, all opponent's monsters will die
while yours are saved.  But if you think about it, how
often does the opponent play dark hole when his field
is full of monsters?  Not very often.  So therefore
magic jammer is really the better choice.  The 1 card
discard requirement is a small price to pay.

I give it 2/5.  It's just not worth it to play other
magic negating cards other than magic jammer as it
takes up too much space.

Tuesday - White Hole
White Hole reads:

TP1-005 White Hole
Type: Normal Trap
When your opponent plays “Dark Hole”, the monsters on your side of the field are not destroyed.

Not much to say about this Trap card. If Dark Hole wasn't on the restriction list, this would be a decent card.

Since Dark Hole is limited to 1 per deck, White Hole isn't worth the spot(s) in your deck.

The card is very specific, which doesn't leave much more to say about it...

...Rating: 1.4/5

Though very bad, it does do something that may help you out greatly.

NickWhiz1

We continue tourney card week with a real oddity, White Hole.

Card Text:
Normal Trap
When your opponent plays “Dark Hole”, the monsters on your side of the field are not destroyed.

Analysis:
This is the most situational card in the entire English version so far.  Why?  It only works on one card, that being the Black Hole (errr...Dark Hole) (doesn't anyone get it? rotten translation).  Its effect will make your opponent cry; it's basically the equivalent of you using Raigeki on your opponent.  If you manage to actually get this card against your opponent's Dark Hole, you just gained a major advantage.

Therein lies the problem.

Getting this card out before your opponent gets out a Dark Hole is not reliable enough to merit using this card, unless you use 2+ of them, which is a waste, considering Dark Hole is restricted to 1 per deck.  Magic Jammer is better for countering Dark Hole because, even though your opponent's monsters live and you have to discard a card from your hand, Magic Jammer can be used against any Magic card, giving it more versatility.  And you definitely won't want to draw this card if your opponent already used Dark Hole =/  It's even worse to actually get this card, just to have your opponent Heavy Storm it away, then play Dark Hole =/  Or they can just not draw Dark Hole at all, and you're wasting a Magic/Trap spot =/

Sell it on Ebay or something.  You can make a few bucks, due to the rarity of this card (it's a Super Rare).

Should YOU play it?
Read the above sentence.

Score:
This card isn't as rare or valuable as Mechanicalchaser, so it won't get an inflated rating.  Instead, it gets a solid 1.7.  The only reason it doesn't get a 1.0 is because it can do some stuff (if you're lucky), and it's a Tourney Pack Super Rare, so it can be sold to collectors for some good cash (I've seen Super Rares go for $30-40+ in some places).
