Thursday -- Goddess with the Third Eye

Introduction: A card that allows to substitute a light monster for a fusion.

Why should you use it?
*Saves you from running a weaker monster (i.e. Red Eyes and Summoned Skull)
*Adds to the odds that the fusion will be completed quicker.

Why shouldn't you use it?
*Fusions aren't good at all.
*There isn't really any good Light-Fusion monsters currently or in the near future.

Reasons: This card is good if your going to run a fusion-based deck, other than that, no use of this card. But there is one decent fusion, Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon. Even though THTD has a killer effect you might want to bring out two (if you don't want to use it's search effect). It helps bring fusion out quicker because it you have more fusion cards. This card really isn't that great at all because fusions of any sort really isn't good at all, due to how easily they can be countered (Magic Jammer, Solemn Judgement, even Horns of Heaven). Even if you can get the fusion out, likely it won't stay on the field that long.

Rating: This card isn't really that great, unlike it's Dark brother Versago the Dark Destroyer, which can be fuse to form the supreme Black Skull Dragon. I would give this card a 1.75 because the use of it isn't that great, due to how little Light fusions monster there are.

Conclusion: An okay card, it's not the time for it to shine yet.  A little side note, you might be thinking this,  why can't I just use two of these to form a fusion monster? Well then I would give this card a 4 if you cant do that, but you can't. This is why "You cannot substitute for any other Fusion-Material Monster in the current Fusion." Meaning you may only use one of these in a fusion. So if it wasn't for that last line, this card would be very good, but it isn't.

Thursday - Goddess with the Third Eye

Today's COTD is Goddess with the Third Eye.  This
monster has an interesting effect.  It can take the
place of an fusion material monster.

With this card, it makes fusions, including BSD, a lot
more playable.  You no longer need to put the less
playable fusion monsters in your deck anymore.

However, this card isn't for all decks.  Right now,
the only fusion that is remotely worth the effort is
Black Skull Dragon.  Use this card in place of Red
Eyes Black dragon and BSD becomes much more playable.
Of course you still run into the problem of finding
the polymerizations required to fuse monsters.

I give it a 3/5, but only when it is in a fusion deck.
Otherwise it's useless.  With fusion gate released
later, it's more playable, but even with this card,
it'll be hard to summon those fusion monsters due to
the lack of polymerization.

Tourney week is almost over =(  Tomorrow is the traditional Friday fun pick special (well, at least whenever I do CotD), but today we're looking at a monster that's three of a kind, and that would be Goddess with the Third Eye.

Card Text:
Light/Fairy/4/1200/1000
Effect: You can substitute this card for any 1 Fusion-Material Monster. You cannot substitute for any other Fusion-Material Monster in the current Fusion.

Analysis:
Well, this card is basically the same as Versago the Destroyer and Beastking of the Swamps, so think of this as another triple review (like the 3 GG parts).

If you play a Fusion deck, I would get at least 2 of any of the above.  These cards are just invaluable, as it makes it that much easier to perform fusions.  With B. Skull Dragon, you wouldn't have to have Red-eyes Black Dragon in your deck.  With Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon, you could theoretically special summon 2 of them (2 sets of one Thunder Dragon and one Fusion substitute).  You could even play crappy fusions like Skull Knight and Bickuribox!

Just remember that you can't just use 2 of these Fusion substitute monsters in the same fusion, otherwise they may be broken =X

You will remember in my B. Skull Dragon review that you could try splashing 1 of these guys and 1 Polymerization into any F/S deck to possibly bring out a real hard-hitter.  After looking at that, I realized how vulernable and pointless the combo really is, because by the time you draw both of them and a SS, the game is most likely over, as F/S decks are built for speed, and a Fusion would slow it down.

So, in other words, only play these guys in decks based around Fusions.

Should YOU play it?
If you play a Fusion deck get at least 2.  They will speed your deck up.  Otherwise, run away.

Score:
I will give these three an average score of 2.8.  Their stats aren't very good, but their effect is very nifty.

IQ
hmmm.. ever since I got this card I've been wondering how good this card
really is, it has potential and it could bring about a new deck archteype
but
will it be a dominant deck?

>From what I've heard there are 3 different Monsters with this exact
same ability, so it is possible to build a deck based around getting those
cool purple looking Monsters in play. ^_< You can use Magician of Faith and
this type of Monsters to make it work and since the Monsters you will be
bringing into play are considered to be special summons they can't be countered
by Trap Hole.
The deck has potential because you can drop really big monsters in the
early game and apply a lot of pressure but will it be enough to take down your
opponent before they get a way to deal with them?
