Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Millennium Shield

Card Number - MP1-001

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating

Millenium Shield

One of the Ultra Rares in the MP1 set. At first glance, all it is a rare and shiny Labyrinth Wall. However, you have to note its type too. In the future, Types would play a more important role than now so keep this card handy until then. For now, if you need a really good Defensive Monster, this card can be really useful. Jinzo, Summoned Skull, and Goblin Attack Force won't be able to break through it unless your opponent powers them up...

Yonex Millenium Shield -- Monday

Introduction: Big fat wall!

Level 5
Earth
[Warrior]
0/3000

Why should you use it?
*Big wall
*Easy to bring out?

Why shouldn't you use it?
*Weak ATK
*Tribute monster

Reasons: Hoped everyone had a great Winter Break! Most of us are barely
coming back to school, while others had to start last week. Well, the Card
of the Day is back, to continue the promo trend, we have Millenium Shield.
This is a big fat wall. A big 3000 DEF, which is impentrable by ALL
monsters, unless you use some kind of effect to bring it out (fusion,
megamorph, etc). This monster may seem to be hard to bring out, but it can
be easy. Cards like Giant Rat and Last Will can make it very easy to bring
it out. If protected, this card can be unstoppable. Well, it has a very weak
ATK points, zero. Though, 90 percent of the time, you wouldn't use this card
as an attacker. This is also a tribute monster, making it a bit hard to
bring out the regular way. However, still a good card.

Rating: Not a bad card, but has potential to be a big wall just to annoy
someone. Well it gets a 3.2. It's not bad, it can be annoying, if it is
played right. However, if you can't get your hands on this card, there is
always Labyrinth Wall.

Conclusion: Good if played right.

wartortle32 Monday - Millenium Shield

Today we look at Millenium Shield. It's a level 5 monster with stats of 0/3000. It was an ultra rare from the McDonald's promos set.

Basically, this is a Labyrinth wall in shiny form.  It's suitable only for high defense stall decks. I guess sword and shield decks would also use this, but it works just as fine with Labyrinth wall and LW is a lot cheaper and easier to find. Most of the promos that came in the McDonald's promos were are just plain bad, with perhaps the exception of Cosmo Queen. This one is inbetween.

I give it a 2.5/5. It has uses, but I just don't see the reason to use this over Labyrinth Wall. Pure trade bait. Good luck finding someone to trade it to...

It's great to be back from vacation,
So now I am going to give you all some information.
If you want a card with a high defense stat,
Millennium shield is where it's at!

Hailing from the PSV set, Millennium Shield is a very nice card to look at. Unfortuneatley, that is the only thing I would do with it. Millennium Shield isn't very different from Labyrinth wall, a card that dosen't get played much as is.

The defense is all it has going for it. It's going to be hard surprising your opponent with it, however. When you sacrifice a creature to play a face down monster, they will see something like this coming.

My rating? 3.0, Average.

It's not bad, just easily spottable by an opponent. At least it has a cute combo with sword and shield...

Monday - Millineum Shield

I was thinking of an honest review for this card and I can't think of much.  It's quite simply a HUGE blocker in most cases.  Nothing super, nothing spectacular.

If you had a stall deck of any kind, it could be highly useful.  Otherwise, I don't think it has a home in most decks.  It's not aggressive at all.

I say, you should just play it if you are looking for extra defense.

SomeGuy Monday - Millenium Shield

I apologize for my absence the past few weeks. I had exams one week, followed by a two week vacation. Now that I'm back, I'm ready to start reviewing some cards.

Millenium Shield is nothing more than a pretty version of Labryinth Wall. For one tribute, you're getting a 3000 DEF Monster. Which means that most, if not all, of the time it will be in DEF mode.

3000 DEF can stop many cards such as Jinzo, Summoned Skull, Jirai Gumo and of course all the Lvl. 4 1800 attackers... for as long as it can survive. 3000 DEF won't be able to stop a Tribute to the Doomed, Fissure, Dark Hole, Raigeki ect. without the aid of a Counter Trap card.

A nicely timed Sword and Shield can really put the game in your favor via Millenium Shiel. A monster with 3000 ATK is nothing to laugh at.

Personally, if I'm going to only be getting a high DEF monster, I'd rather not have to pay tribute for it. The main reason for this is because, if you so desperately need a strong DEF monster, you're not going to have the tribute needed for Millenium Shield.

Stick to your Giant Soldier of Stone and Wall of Illusion, unless the deck is really dependant on that high of a DEF.
