Edward Elric changed the night he trapped his
younger brother’s spirit in the unfeeling steel
of an ancient suit of armor. That night, Edward
and Alphonse exploited the clandestine science
of Alchemy to attempt the unthinkable- resurrect
their dead mother. They failed, unleashing an
alchemic reaction that ripped their bodies apart.
Four years later, an expanding evil lurks behind
the false face of freedom. With rebellion crushed,
the State turns its eye to increasing its grip on the
people by seizing a legendary artifact that would ensure
complete domination and plunge the land into State
controlled darkness. Now a lone State Alchemist combs the
country for a single stone that could amplify his Alchemy.
If successful he would control a power permitting him to
restore the precious things that were lost. But it would
also allow the State Military to senselessly obliterate
countless more. The Alchemist is soon faced with the harsh
truth that the power to create is but a breath away from the
power to destroy, and that with each birth, death must follow.
It is this burden that the young Alchemist bears. His name is
Edward Elric. And he seeks the Philosopher’s Stone.

"From Anime News Network:
Errata: Case Closed not cancelled (2004-10-04
01:06:21) FUNimation representative FUNFlack on the
Adult Swim message boards has stated that Detective
Conan is not being cancelled on Adult Swim. In
September, it was reported on several major
animation news sites, including ANN, that Cartoon
Network intended to cancel Conan. ANN apologies for
the error.
In other words, it's going on a hiatus, for two main
reasons: a) so AS can show reruns of Witch Hunter
Robin and Wolf's Rain and b) Funi hasn't dubbed too
many more episodes, so rerunning the first 50 ones
AGAIN would drop ratings and make it look worse,
etc.
Detective Conan in Japan STILL hasn't ended to my
knowledge (350+ episodes and 8 or so movies.) Case Closed fans might have to wait a
little too long for their liking though. However, we
can be sure that Case Closed is going to return, as
it's one of the top ranked anime. There isn't a set
date yet, however Case Closed will return in the
future, probably Fall/Winter of 2005."

Binhai Temple is cursed, haunted by a creature with
a voracious appetite for human souls, a beast feared
by all. The Mist Goblin hunts by night, seeking
victims to satisfy its hunger before displaying
their lifeless bodies for all to see with morning’s
first light.
When Bonzai Tennei, head cleric of Binhai Temple is
discovered murdered, suspended from the ceiling of a
high room within the temple it appears the Mist
Goblin legend is far more than mere myth. Only Conan
suspects foul play.
Why have the room’s drain boards been cut? And what
of the small piece of wood and double-sided tape
found near the body? Most perplexing of all are the
cherry blossom petals found nowhere near cherry
blossom trees!
Can Conan piece together the clues and uncover the
truth behind the Mist Goblin?
Can you?

04.13.04 FUNimation announced
the acquisition of Kodomo no Omocha (a.k.a. Kodocha) on
Saturday, April 10 at Anime Boston. The announcement was
made during our industry panel at 3:00 p.m. ET. We expect
the title to release around Spring or Summer 2005. Here is
some background information on the property:
"Kodomo no Omocha is a zany, energetic comedy that focuses
on the life of an eleven-year-old child actor Sana Kurata,
who is trying to survive through life and adolescence.
However, Sana’s life is quite different than the ordinary
pre-teenager. She's the daughter of a famous writer and the
lead star in a national TV show called "Kodomo no Omocha,"
which nearly everyone in Japan watches and loves.
Despite her stardom, Sana attends pubic school. At the start
of the series, Sana’s class is terrorized by a bully named
Akito Hayama, a cold and quiet boy who manages to rally the
other boys around him and torment the classroom and the
teacher. When Sana decides to stand up to Akito and tries to
get him to stop, she discovers that the cause of Akito’s
behavior is his troubled family life. Sana decides to help
Akito through his problems. The rivalry ends and the
friendship begins…or is there more?
Along with the zany comedy and Sana’s unlimited source of
hyperactivity, the show also has moments of touching drama.
The story is linear and the audience follows the lives of
these characters through their ups and downs. The pace of
the show is very active and witty."
