Genju of the
Fields
I think all the single colored Genju land
enchantments are well worth playing in limited
formats. A few of the Genju cards are even good
enough for constructed, and Genju of the Fields
is one of them. Genju of the Fields might be the
best non-creature spell way to win a game since
Mishra's Factory or even Kjeldoran Outpost. Of
course, those cards will always be a LITTLE
better because they replace regular land in your
deck, which would never be true of the Genju
enchantments. The awesome tech move with Genju
of the Fields is to activate its ability
multiple times to give the 2/5 white Spirit
creature MULTIPLE occurrences of the Spirit Link
ability, allowing you to gain MORE than two life
points when Genju deals damage.

Genju of the
Fields
All of the Genju's are nice in their ability to
be re-used if the land is destroyed when it
comes to limited, and the fact that this guy has
spirit link on him makes it all the better.
Suddenly you have a big blocker that can negate
an entire attack step between blocking and life
gain. In constructed, this guy would really need
to be a bit more aggressive to be worthwhile,
but in casual he might be worth playing in some
form of white control deck. After all, this guy
lives through all of the wrath type effects out
there....

Genju of the
Fields - Friday
Neat, we bookended the week with Genjus. This
one is decent. It gives you a large body to
block with. It even gains you some life. It's a
good playable card for the control white decks
also. This card seems good in most environments
and I'd be surprised if it doesn't actually see
some play.

Genju of the
Fields --
Like most of the Genjus, I can't really complain
too much about Genju of the Fields. It is
relatively inexpensive, it turns into a
decently-sized creature that comes equipped with
a good ability, and if the land it is enchanting
is destroyed, the enchantment bounces back to
your hand. This turns what could be a mediocre
enchant land that doesn't see a lot of play into
a decent card that could find its way into
multiple decks.
This card should almost always make the cut into
your limited deck. It has a Spirit Link ability,
it has a huge butt, and you are almost always
guaranteed to have a decent creature to attack
with for just one white mana (and the activation
cost).

Genju of the
Fields
Another of the very popular Genjus, Fields is
another one that is being ordered often. While
enchantments that attach to things are usually a
bad idea (since if your opponent destroys
whatever it's on, they will get 2 cards of yours
for only one of theirs), the Genjus avoid that
pitfall by returning to your hand when that
happens. A nice deal, and it makes them
infinitely better. A must play in white limited
decks, and I'm betting the Genjus will make
their way into the Casual realm also.
