Summoning Spirits. Again. And again. And again.. by
p_p
The habit of
using ardent spirits, by men in office, has
occasioned more injury to the public, and more
trouble to me, than all other causes. And were I
to commence my administration again, the first
question I would ask, respecting a candidate for
office would be, "Does he use ardent spirits?"
-Thomas
Jefferson
Hello again,
fellow Duelists! Today I will discuss an effective
method of using Tribute Spirits, and why Thomas
Jefferson found them to be so troublesome (ok, so
maybe not THAT kind of spirit..)
Well, it seems that the only spirits duelists notice
are the banned Yata-Garasu and Tsukuyomi (we miss
you Tsuky!), but what they don't realize is that
big, bad, Tribute-hungry spirits like Yamata Dragon,
Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi, and Dark Dust Spirit can be
equally as powerful (or sometimes even more
powerful) when used in the correct deck.
What kind of deck am I talking about? You guessed
it.. Dimensional Cosmos! I currently run one with 2
Dark Dust Spirit and 1 Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi.
Why? Well the key is using the combo Dimensional
Fissure + D.D. Survivor/Scout Plane. They will be
removed from play, and they will come back. Again.
And again. And again.. Wait a minute.. that means
you can use Survivor/Scout Plane for INFINITE
TRIBUTE FODDER!
All you have to do now to the standard
Macro-Monarchs is to remove the Monarchs, and add
the Spirits. You might not be used to such heavy
cards, and it will hurt.. a little. After all, you
may not be used to such bulky and cool-looking
monsters.
But look what happens. Summon Dark Dust Spirit and
clear the field. Summon Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi, inflict
some damage, and your opponent will be top-decking
as if their life depended upon it.. because it
does. Summon Yamata Dragon, inflict some damage,
and you get something of a free Morphing Jar. And
the best part is that Spirits return to the hand at
the end of the turn. You can summon them again.
Again. And again. And again..
Who said that returning to the hand at the end of
the turn is a handicap?!
If you feel that you need even more Tribute fodder,
there's plenty of tech that works well with
Dimensional Cosmos. Marauding Captain, Gilasaurus..
But these are optional; try them out as needed.
This is one of many unorthodox tech choices in the
Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG universe, and I hope to stumble upon
more. After all, your opponents are preparing to
stop Monarchs, not some incredibly powerful spirit
that is summoned every turn! You might want to read
my other
article about unorthodox tech choices for more
information.
